Didn't know him personally but always saw him around. So sad and especially at this time of the year. RIP Norman fly high and take a seat for the games next to the other Charlton legends0

I haven't written anything yet as i just wanted to observe and read what lovely things people have had to say about the great man.
Is there a Charlton fan who wasn't aware of Norman? One of the most recognisable faces ever.
I'm so sad.
RIP Headphones Norm.11 -
Emotional tributes and evening2

Boro fans were good. Singing he's one of your own.9

Lovely tribute pre match. Gut wrenching seeing his family walking round the stands.
RIP Norm.3 -
Been in bed for 24hrs with the flu but dragged myself downstairs at 7.15 to catch the coverage.
Think the club, the fanbase and the wider football community has come out of this with a lot of class. The news piece yesterday had me proper choked, with both @JewishJon and Gavin Carter speaking really well. @StubleyAddick did a wonderful intro to the show tonight and @KillersBeard and Brownie both spoke well.@Nicholas / Giles Jamaica headphones flag looked great.Absolutely gutted I couldn’t be there to pay respect but my family left some flowers pre game.
Feel very proud of our club and fanbase tonight.21 -
I didn’t see the flag from up in NWQ but would be good to see a pic of it. I was very moved by the shrine, and the pre and mid match applause.Long live the memory of Norman.4

Fantastic tributes tonight.
Pre match there were large crowds around the memorial. Everyone entirely respectful, in awe of the man.
The headphones on the club badge on the big screen. (would love that to stay all season)
Just before kickoff, the video of him on the big screen, followed by absolutely thunderous applause and chanting. How the guy on the tannoy introducing the tribute held it together I don't know. Fantastic.
An unscripted standing ovation for his family as they walked round the pitch to take their seats in the Curbs.
And the minute applause during the match, with the referee pausing the game to allow full participation.
I can't recall such a prolonged show of affection happening before, everyone absolutely nailed it tonight.31 -
That guy is @BDL - who did a great job10

The tribute played on ITV London news a little while ago with our very own @Rock Spectacle having the final words was just lovely. What a loss. RIP Norm.5
-
And massive praise too for the Boro fans who started the clapping before the montage on the screen had finished, were thunderous in their applause when it had and joined in with ' there's only one Norman Barker'. Thank you. Great numbers from them too, over 2,400.22

Was hard to see for sure in the West Upper but was one of the family wearing Norm’s outfit?1

There definitely seemed to be someone in his hat (or a similar one) and some headphones from the TV picturesPeakieRocket said:Was hard to see for sure in the West Upper but was one of the family wearing Norm’s outfit?0 -

A very special tribute to a very special man, well done to Charlton for organising everything with so much care and thought, from club badge with headphones, the minute standing ovation,13th minute pause in play and the impressive memorial behind The Covered End.

Some lovely words from Lloyd and Nathan Jones at the end of their post match interviews3

Had tears running down my face before BDL even finished speaking, you could hear the emotion in his voice and I thought everyone involved did a fantastic job.
Wonder what the permanent tribute will end up being, so many great ideas so far I'm sure that we'll nail it whatever we choose, whether it's a permanent fixture in the "squad", a plaque on his seat, a memorial picture on the outside the stadium, or something completely different4 -
We should also recognise the Borough fans as well, they chanted his name along with us .Er_Be_Ab_Pl_Wo_Wo_Ch said:Fantastic tributes tonight.

It's wonderful how the football world and the media have reacted to Norman's passing.
The Trust's obituary reminded me of the early days when Norman would walk up Floyd Road with a big transistor radio perched on his shoulder.
That then reminded me of wonderful match days with my Dad who passed away in 92.
We would get as close to Norman as possible in order to try to listen to the results, as would many others. He was like the Pide Piper, without realising it.4 -
And even their players who joined in during the pause in play and along with the officials clapped. Boro did themselves proud tonight.msomerton said:

There was definitely someone in his family group wearing his hat and his jacket with all the badges and patches on it.fenaddick said:

An emotional evening for everyone. My wife (who is not a footie fan at all) thought the big screen image of the Charlton badge with the headphones was brilliant!1 -
I’m away at the moment so couldnt make it last night, and no sky sports to watch due to geocentric restrictions, if anybody has film or links to the tributes before and during the match please would you share?0
