Saturday didn't start well. When I woke up to the news that England had batted so poorly in the 1st Ashes Test Down Under, something told me there was more trauma to come. Now that we are in much better company in the Championship, it's easy to look at every game as a tough one. I know before the Ipswich game, many feared the worst. The traffic getting to Charlton was bad, but I arrived just in time for kick-off. A man clumsily getting to his seat just after kick-off managed to trample over my ankle and more or less fell into my lap. A bad word came out. From the start, Southampton looked lively, and it was no surprise when they scored. If anything was weird, it seemed many were unsurprised when the second, third, fourth and fifth went in. At half-time, 20,000 Charlton fans were looking forward to witnessing a turnround of a 5-1 deficit to a 7-6 win for the second time in their life. It didn't happen, of course, but it thankfully didn't get any worse. On the drive home, Brentford took the lead at Brighton to put one of my predictions under threat. But then the day changed. Brighton scored two to win 2-1 to give me three points in the Prediction League, and I opened a decent bottle of red wine in the evening. On Tuesday, I'm going to see Les Misérables. I'm praying it's not an omen for what goes on in the Potteries. I might need another decent bottle of red wine on Wednesday evening.

However, getting it right this week were @Italian_Addick, @Bridgeboy and @T_C_E , who all notched up 7 excellent points, with @jdsd42, @closet_addick and @StrikerFirmani not far behind with 6 points. Three more fell on the Noughty Step, leaving just ten competitors who have still not been there.
