Quentin Wilson RIP

Quentin Wilson passed away today at 68. Good Top Gear presenter when it was a serious car show. Met him a couple of times at classic car events, seemed a nice guy.

That's really sad and 68 is no age these days. Seemed like a nice bloke and had the perfect voice for a motor show presenter.

    RIP

Came over as such a nice guy & agree he co-hosted a car show when it was about cars, and not the presenters.

    RIP.

Part of the first "classic" Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson and Tiffney Dell, before they started poncing around with it and brought in Steve "Dookatty" Berry, Michelle Newman, and the early giggly VBH before she was any good.

I have a average Quentin Wilson story

Me and one of my hooligan mates had gone to a hot hatch event at Thruxton in the earlyish 2000s, Tiff Needell was there making things go sideways, Clarkson I think was there too and Quentin Wilson was there and quite prominent. Me and my mate were in the queue for something and I was having a moan about him, I said something along the lines of "he has no business being here, he gets excited about walnut dashboards and selling a high miler Merc for a grand profit, I don't want to see him anywhere near an Evo or talking about one"

As a very delicate drawl behind us said "the imported version or the European version" spinning round to deal with this nosey bastard its none other than the man himself. Felt a bit of a prick to be honest as he was very gracious and said something like if the price is right he will say enthusiastic things about the heap of shit XR3 I had turned up in. We all had a laugh, Quentins honour was restored and I was reminded that car people are car people and not to be such a judgie twat, or at least check the audience before being such a judgie twat

Spoke out about Fuel Duty hikes, and was an advocate of EV.
Genuine fellow by all accounts.  RIP QW

I fucking hated him. Only because he was the face of Warrantywise and they’re a loss of robbing bastards.

Sometimes it's better not to post about how much you hate someone on an RIP thread.
