During the international break Lloyd is going to be upgraded to version 2.1. This release includes bug fixes and a bios update.

It wasn't too long ago that Lloyd was an anonymous second fiddle to an underwhelming Michael Hector. His transformation from journeyman to talisman at such a late stage in his career is truly remarkable.
It goes to show how important partnerships are in defence. Even a prime CB like Lloyd Jones can look less-than-great if he's put next to a ham like Hector.
  • I can't see us winning many games without Lloyd. He has been amazing last season and this. I would genuinely fear about relegation without him. He is that important.

My old man reckons he's playing through an injury right now and probably having injections to get through it. He pulled up about the same time Bell did at the weekend, and was on the touchline with the physio whilst Docherty was getting ready to take the penalty on Tuesday night
I'm convinced of this, he looked to be really struggling 2nd half Saturday - albeit it does seem he'd also been pretty ill the previous 24 hours.

I'm sure Jones would love to give him a rest/break but we just can't - gotta hope it doesn't subsequently mean he does more damage

He is quite comfortably the best centre back we have had since the Premier League imo, and could probably be starting for a Championship side chasing autos.

One of my favourite players as well for a very, very long time. Always puts in the effort and doesn't really have a bad game in him. I could only wish we had 3 of him to occupy all 3 centre back rolls.

As for him leaving, I don't see it unless a newly relegated side comes down and he carries on as is (quick fix to promotion, like May). Not many clubs will risk him cause of his age, and I think he is settled here.

If he ever does go though, I hope it's on good terms for a change. Feel like we don't handle players leaving well and it always seems to be a bit of bad blood, Lloydy has done a lot for us and if he wanted to test himself at a bigger club or a bigger wage, I think he's earned it personally.

I can also see him playing at a high championship level for at least another 3-4 years if he looks after himself, and easily see him being a dominant centre back in League 1 and 2 if he wants to well into his late 30s, pace isn't his game and there will always be a place for players like him in the lower English leagues.

Agree with this. Part of me doesn't want him to go the PL in case he gets caught out. He could have a great end of his career playing an important role in promotion chasing sides. If we went up and he was still here I could see him being incredibly useful off the bench

Rolls royce of a defender, our best for maybe 20 years, makes the dross of recent years like Terrell Thomas, Lavelle etc seems like a distance memory

Think Nathan Jones has helped him massively, not bad but not the best defender in a conservative system like we saw under Holden and Apples when he has to stand up an attacker 1 on 1 but letting him just going forward and batter forwards with his sheer physicality and aggression just another example of Jones making players better. In his last 50 games it’s only really been Kone who’s been a real hassle for him

People have mentioned him as an upper end of the championship player.I agree .He is that with us.I know Doc is the skipper but he's another great leader on the pitch.

I honestly cannot see LJ playing at this level for another 3-4 years. He is an all-in type CH who will struggle to play any other way and injuries will keep catching up with him (as some have spotted already this season).
I hope we keep him here for the length of his contract and look after him, not overplay him (tough not to).
But let's not kid ourselves he will last till 35 at this level!
If an upper Champ team wanted him in January to cover injury and help push for promotion and were prepared to pay 5mm, the club would have to consider it.......
(Now you can give me pelters....)

Surprised none of our strikers made it
  • How fit is he atm? Looks to be playing with a bit of an injury.

Let's hope he doesn't break down and need a bit of time out of the team.

Hoping the international break helped him out with a bit of a rest
