Favourite songs.

In the pub this afternoon and Simon, bar keep at my local, sits down with guitar and music stand.

Oh god thinks I. Then he starts singing and is not half bad, his own stuff mixed in with other stuff.

Then he sings the Crystal ship by the Doors. One of my favourites of my favourite band.

Stunning. Life sometimes is lovely.

Great song, great band. All the albums are fantastic. My favourite track has to be Wishful Sinful from The Soft Parade, although songs such as Moonlight Drive and Queen of the Highway/Indian Summer come close.

Soft Parade is fantastic. I remember when it came out and the critics couldn’t handle the Doors being different. I think it’s easily one of their best.

I love Oasis, Jarvis Cocker, Amy McDonald, and Jam, but my favourite song is Hurt by Johnny Cash. Closely followed by Land of Grey and Pink and Sympathy for the Devil.

You should have asked Simon to play Bridge over Troubled Waters, one of my all time favourites

Great band & one of my favourites.  Best Album imo is LA Woman although Soft Parade has some very eclectic songs. 2nd best, and probably being a heretic here, is Other Voices  - Ships w Sails is classic Doors.

The Doors were a fantastic band - and one of my very few claims to fame is seeing them in 1970 at the Isle of Wight (Hendrix as well!). As a fresh faced 13 year old I didn't fully appreciate it all until many years later when looking back.

There are many songs that I could argue to be my favourite, but it usually ends with the same outcome for many reasons, not least because I asked the organist to play the melody as part of our wedding service in 1987, twenty years after its release. - 'A Whiter Shade of Pale' - Procol Harum.

This is probably my favourite rendition and Gary Brooker's voice is just as good as it was nearly 40 years earlier.
