Can't see Friedman or Brener being remotely interested in this. He's supposedly offered £400m for Wolves which Fosun aren't interested in

I don't want to go back to being another " network" club which is exactly what Textor has in mind with Eagle Football Holdings (yes it's named after Palace which is even worse). He's already been in trouble with the french authorities for dodgy goings on at Lyon and the Brazilian authorities have gone after him for irregularities at Botofogo too.

Would fully expect he ends up buying Sheffield Wednesday ultimately.

Matt Slater on The Athletic. Sounds like he's just tyre kicking a load of clubs and is in a right financial mess anyway.

Would hope he gets put off us, bloke is an idiot
  • Out of those i'd say it makes the most sense to buy Sheffield Wednesday. He could get Wednesday for a knockdown price, do a Birmingham (ie. spend big in league one where the FFP rules are different) and have them back as a solid Championship side in 18 months time.

Obviously the stadium needs money spent on it but repair that and you've got a 35k stadium and a club with a strong fanbase for peanuts in the modern day football world.

Wednesday or Derby would be the 2 obvious ones , the Derby owner David Clowes has been looking for outside investors for a year or so - he's rich but he's not championship owner rich and did do a deal with Mel Morris where he does own the club and Pride Park now so I can see the attraction there.

No idea when anyone would look at QPR when you'd have to build a new stadium.

Can't see the 3 major shareholders being in any way interested, as Matt laid out in the article there's so many court cases related to Textors other clubs and business dealings ATM that I would be surprised if he even got a reply from our owners.

Can't see Carter being interested in it either which is the bonus of having a fan on the board

No chance he buys us, they've just looked at a map where Crystal Palace is and googled "football clubs in turmoil" and set the history to the last 10 years, and our name popped up
  • Surely Sheffield Wednesday would be a no brainer, can pick them up for pennies on the pound now they’re in admin. Can probably get the club and their stadium in one deal as well. Decent sized support too.

To all those thinking our owners wouldn't sell, can I ask why?

I think they know if they stick around a few more years they will probably be able to get a better ROI. That and they seem to be having fun from the small bits we see

3 more years and probably another 20-30 million outlay and we could be in the prem worth another 300 million.

Because they are in it for the long haul and we are 18 months into a 4 year plan .. they will want to see that out … to much work and money put in to leave now

A quick look at Textor's track record leaves me thinking he's just what we don't need. As my wife said when she spent a couple of minutes looking into his background: "Tell him to fuck right off".  Who am I to argue.

We’ve already got enough people with a stake in the club as it is don’t want a headache trying to remember another one. Although will always go down as an icon in my eyes by stopping palace entering the europa league

We've had a decade of suffering rich egostists who think their success in one field can translate across to football and that was a disaster which none of us want to live through again. Finally we have a side we can be proud of and owners who seem to get what Charlton is all about. We don't need a dodgy American with a shit track record to drag us back into the mire

    Absolute bollocks, as per usual.

It staggers me how little people actually understand about the way this sort of thing works.

Of course they will have a plan, projections, estimated returns, expected timelines, etc. But at the end of the day it's all about cold hard cash, and if they get the right offer at the right time they will be gone. Pure and simple.

Every club has its price just like every club is for sale should the owners be tempted. Rich people own us and I would say, without any doubt, they want to stay rich people.
I don’t think we are the prime choice to be bought but

Hate to say it but you’re 99% correct ……. but on this occasion, I think it more likely they’ll be here for the long haul.

If the board are smart they will fend this off delicately.

We are looking good right now and there is clear synergy from board, to manager, to players to fans.

That bond has placed us in the top 6.

We do not want that disrupted.

Who knows what the future holds but as a fan we don't need anything other than the status quo to see where it takes us.

Ive also watched interviews with this weasel and he couldn't take responsibility for a singular thing.

Acted like a 5 year old who HADNT thrown his food all over the kitchen,  when he destroyed Palaces dream.

We are just coming good I DO NOT want Nathan Jones interrupted in any way shape or form.
