I doubt very much the tourists are the bulk of the increase but doesn't mean were not making it easier for them to come or marketing to them in some way. If not, we should be.SporadicAddick said:Henry Irving said:Regularly get some in the museum.
I remember a twitter post from a consultant last season which got much derision on here about increasing attendances but I suspect the club been targeting this audience.
That's a hell of a lot of tourists, coming at a time when there would have been a natural correlation between performance on the pitch and attendances.
We have 8k ST holders who renewed at last season's prices plus 3k new or returning ST holders.
We had just under 9k more fans in home areas on top of that on Saturday.
Some would have been there in connection with Red, White and Black Day, maybe 500 or 750.
The rest, 6000+, would have been paying fans and quite a few of them coming from abroad.1 -
Pompey is already a restricted sale gameElfsborgAddick said:AFKABartram said:Very noticeable for this game that the club didn’t switch to Database Only sales once Sheffield Wednesday sold their allocation. Can’t remember that being done before, but it’s clear there’s a big market for non-database sales they don’t want to dampen
I suppose the club will ride it until there is an incident with away fans in home areas.
Or until we play Portsmouth, and the spanners next season.1 -
Attendance was 23,009 so just under 9k more "home" fans unless I'm missing something.Henry Irving said:

That's great and well done you lot, hope you have a great trip and few days as I imagine at least some of you are coming for a long weekend. It's also kids for a quid day so although Swans are not much of a draw for neutrals I guess these events are designed to keep our average attendances on the higher side.Stuart_the_Red said:There’s going to be even more on Nov. 1 against Swansea, which has been designated as International Supporter’s Day.I know there’s going to be a large contingent of the Swedish Addicks, German Addicks and International Addicks (including me) flying/travelling over!1 -
I was trying to help some foreign tourists get their QR code to work and get them in AC stand on Saturday, my sons were laughing as I usually cant even get my own to work !0

I think tourists can get into restricted sales games, they just need to turn up to the ticket office in person with proof they're a tourist ie a passport/plane tickets.AFKABartram said:

I fully embrace visitors coming to The Valley. I have a sense of pride that they come to our part of London, our club and our ground.Henry Irving said:

Plus we have the benefit of enough season ticket holders now in the covered end to ensure that we don't suffer the same fate as Fulham, where the atmosphere is shocking (poor in the first place, and now diluted). If we ever got the the PL, that could change, but I'm embracing it for now...
Separately, the consultant got fully deserved pelters for indulging in corporate wank on stilts...

I think the Swedes and some of the Germans are also staying for Tuesday’s game against West Brom, which I can’t make as I have to fly home on Monday.WrightCharlie said:

Appropriate day for it seeing as there’ll be a couple of thousand people who’ve travelled from Wales in the stadium.Stuart_the_Red said:There’s going to be even more on Nov. 1 against Swansea, which has been designated as International Supporter’s Day.I know there’s going to be a large contingent of the Swedish Addicks, German Addicks and International Addicks (including me) flying/travelling over!0
