NJ has admitted that he didn't rotate enough before the break, so it'll be interesting how he rotates the squad for the next 3 games, both to maintain freshness, but also to best match up against the opposition. In today's interview with Cawley, Tanto has said that he prefers playing through the middle as a No 9. I would hope he gets a chance to play there this week, and not just 10 minutes off the bench.

Tomorrow feels like a must win, Tuesday at Ipswich feels like the sort of game where any sort of positive result would be a bonus, while Hull next Saturday is a game where we should be targeting the win. 6 points would be a good week, 4 acceptable, anything less disappointing.

While I agree with your point, if he rotates too much it could be a very demoralising result

Think 4 points out the next 3 games will
be an excellent return .. Sheff Wed and Hull will be the draw and win don’t be surprised if it’s the other way that people expect … but Ipswich away is a loss .. anything a massive bonus

Ipswich playing tonight gives them a big advantage with an extra day (and having probably the best squad in the league is another big advantage). Probably the most difficult game of the season due to that scheduling and the strength of opposition

In their last two away games, they have beaten Portsmouth 2 nil and drawn with Birmingham 2-2. They are certainly better away than at home and have got a 2-2 with Wrexham away as well. So that says we have to be on it. I was very disapointed in us against Preston as I think we are better than that perfomance. This is a game to get that one out of our system and I have a feeling we will.

    • Charlton Athletic are winless in their last seven league games against Sheffield Wednesday (D1 L6), failing to score in six of those matches.

    • Sheffield Wednesday have won two of their last three away league games against Charlton Athletic (D1), as many as in their previous eight visits (D3 L3).

    • Charlton have won 14 of their last 18 home league matches (D3 L1), while in 2025 they have 12 home league wins – they last had more in a single year in 2019 (13).

    • Sheffield Wednesday have conceded the most goals in the Championship this season (20) – it’s the earliest into a league campaign (9 games) that they’ve conceded that many since 2012-13 (also 20 in first 9 games).

    • James Bree has been involved in four goals in five Championship appearances this season for Charlton (2 goals, 2 assists) – he has a goal or assist every 89 minutes, the fourth-best ratio of any player with 300+ minutes for any side this season.

They’ve got a 19 year old kid at CB. Feel like if you asked him who he’d rather face on Saturday between Kelman and Leaburn, then he’d definitely say Kelman. I’d start Leaburn and he can bully him, get plenty of crosses in and Leaburn will score
Looks like he won’t be playing tomorrow. What a name Ernie Weaver is btw.

It will be harder than many are predicting. And its a must win for us with 3 tough away games coming up, so the pressure will be on us. Can the players cope ? Can they score enough goals ?

Btw.....it will be only my 2nd visit this season My first being the 1-1 draw against you know who, so you know who to blame if it all goes tits up tomorrow.

Watched them on Sky against Coventry and, apart from Bannan, they struck me as very young and tactically naive. Fortunately we have matured somewhat under NJ and brought in more tactically aware players so hoping for a relatively easy win  (but of course logic doesn’t always work with Charlton).

Trying to buy a ticket for my granddaughter but the online system tells me she needs to be accompanied by an adult, which is me.
    But I don't need a ticket as I have a season ticket.
Has anyone had this and can help tell me what to do (other than ring the ticket office tomorrow)?

You have to call the ticket office. No other way around it.

Was confident, now tentative. I never was one to write of Sheffield Wednesday (at the start of the season), and given the build up to the game I think there will be a surprise.

Looks like no love lost between the supporters it seems like (And no sympathy for their situation either, I just hope our fans don’t begin singing Pro Chansiri songs).

Looks like whoever gets relegated this season will get the #karma treatment- 3:0 was my prediction but I feel like it might be a 2:1 or a 1:0 game now (or perhaps a stalemate).
Both team up for it and fighting hard in a packed Valley!

From the build up that has been happening on here the Valley will erupt if we get a last minute winner!

Love the preview as always FA.

I'm expecting a win, and Kelman needs his goal this weekend to get going. I'd like him to play the full 90 so he can have a proper crack at a game, with Tanto coming on for TC when he's run out of legs.

I can't see SW offering much of a threat, and our relentless pressure will break them down as we cruise to the win.

I'm not up to speed on their squad, but I think I'm right in thinking they've had to promote a few of their academy boys to fill the squad.

With this being our only home game this month, which is feckin mental (piss poor scheduling by the clowns at EFL headquarters) we need the 3 points to keep us safely in mid table.

    2-0 Kelman in each half.

I think Coventry look great  to be honest.
lets see what happens but on current form who could suggest they won’t be back in the premiership next year.
They will make plenty look tactically naive this season.
I just hope we aren’t one of them

Very tough game where we are probably the favourites which is not good. They will sit with their 2 holding midfielders and hope to hit us on the break or with a set piece. First goal wins it and sadly I think the 1-0 goes to Sheff Weds.

Curbs (on occasion) would target his strongest side against weaker teams in the Premiership in order to put some points on the board.

I think this is one of those occasions where Nathan can and should put out his strongest eleven.  This is a 'winnable' game and three points is essential.

Having grumbled about ticket prices and why this is a gold game, on the other thread, i am expecting this could be our biggest attendance so far. Block A in the Curbs stand is an indication. Possibly many Sheff Weds fans in home end. Block H West is an odd one as either not on sale for this match, or sold out.
