2025-26 CL Prediction League Week 9 Fixtures
I don't know about you, but my predictions take me about two hours on Friday morning. It's not the same for Follower Fred, who just copies the previous week's highest scorer, or Hopeful Harriet, who gives no thought to the matches but predicts a 2-0 win for Charlton and 2-0 defeats for Millwall and Palace. Meanwhile, Pessimist Pete blindly predicts a 2-0 loss for Charlton and 2-0 wins for Millwall and Palace. These three can't get the thrill of spending those two hours, checking form, comparing home and away results, noting each team's injuries and looking at the history of each clash over the last 25 years. Like me, we all do it, I'm sure. However, I'm just wondering if Harriet might be on to something this week. Surely, we can knock two past Wednesday without conceding. Millwall are a bit unpredictable, but QPR are equally unpredictable and might edge it in the London derby, and Palace, like others, might find AFC Bournemouth more of a handful than expected - not that proper CL Prediction Leaguers can choose that game this week. But what would I do on Friday mornings? And, I'm never comfortable predicting Charlton, Millwall and Palace scores. Look what happened when Cray Valley Papier Mâché came to The Valley when I predicted 5-0, having spent thirty minutes considering 6-0 or 7-0. No, it's my usual routine. Now, I wonder who will be first to post this week, about two minutes after I post the fixtures.
