Rip Danny Thompson. Must confess my ignorance here. I was always mesmerized by John Martyn and the bass was such a beautiful part of Martyn's sound. Did Danny Thompson play on Bless the weather, Solid air, one world, couldn't love you more..?

Danny’s first appearance on a JM album was on the song New Day on 1970’s Road to Ruin. He then appeared on numerous songs on Bless the Weather, Solid Air, Inside Out, Sunday’s Child and One World - a run of essential JM LPs between 1971 and 1977. He’s also on JM’s Live at Leeds LP from 1975 where the full force of JM/DT and John Stevens on drums can be heard to good effect. The final appearance of DT on a JM album was the marvellous My Creator on 2004’s On The Cobbles. DT played live with JM as a duo on and off in the late 80s and early 2000s. They also appeared together on some editions of The Transatlantic Sessions.
