    Not really an aphorism but more a comment: with so much fake news, GenAI, photoshop, deep fakes, partisan news, state sponsored misinformation, etc. I hope philosophy can give us techniques for deciding what to believe.

    I prefer "growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional". And as previously mentioned, one from my Grandad "you don't ask, you don't get".

    I thought of one myself while at work. After bothering a manager for confirmation I said "I'd rather know I've done something right than not know I've done something wrong."

    I have a sneaking feeling I picked it up from someone's long since posted comment on here. It was simply:
