Peter Pragnell - CAFC fan - RIP

I hope I’m not treading on any toes here but I was told yesterday that Peter has sadly passed away.

He only messaged our Valley Express WhatsApp on Friday to say he was off to Oz and would see us at the Sheffield Wednesday home game. I have no other details.

I only knew Peter through our Valley Express journeys. He was a season ticket holder for many years and a local councillor in Hastings until a year or two ago.

I’m sure many here will know him, most better than I, but we will miss him on our trips up to The Valley. He was one of the good guys.

Rest In Peace Peter, you will be sadly missed.

  • Very sad news. Used to get his coach a couple of seasons back and seemed a lovely man.

    RIP Peter.

I have never met Peter, but posts like this are so sad.
Saying goodbye to his friends for a while as going on holiday, then the gentleman has passed away.
We do not know what is around the corner.
    Sleep well Peter.
  • We have lost another member of our extended family. RIP fellow Addick.

  • I'm local to Hastings area and knew Peter, although hadnt seen him in a few years as lives go on and time passes. A really lovely and friendly man who worked with my ex for a while and imagine my surprise in meeting another CAFC fan in Hastings! Worked tirelessly for our local community and i admired him for his staunch political views while being respectful of others. A true gent, and it does seem sudden as he was posting on facebook only last week. Life just isn't fair.

I saw Peter in Hastings Spoons a few days ago, possibly the day before he ended up with his arm in a sling.
He used to drive us to games, both home and away, the old days of Empress coaches, from the Fountain Queens Road, the mist rolling in from the sea - to The Valley, Roots Hall, Anfield
    and beyond.

    A good bloke, RIP Peter.

  • Oh no, I also know him from our Valley Express route, such a nice chap. Always has a friendly word to say to everyone. Win, lose or draw always a cheery outlook. Very sad news, RIP.
