Looks like NJ has written this one off. No game changers on the bench if things don't work out.
Yeah he's definitely written this one off with knibbs, kelman and olaofe up there against a league 2 side who've made 6 changes aswell might aswell not even bother playing and give them a bye tbh.
Personally, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t at least have a stronger bench. If you’re that confident the starters will get the job done, then they won’t be needed anyway
sensible selection as everyone in the squad needs proper, competitive game time .. Ollie Hobden is a new name to me, let's hope he can stake a big claim to r w back, a position that needs cover
Should be a good competitive game, for Cambs it's a visit from a club they'd love to emulate, for our players, a chance to stake a claim and put pressure on the 'regular' 1st team selections
There’s definitely enough in our starting XI to win this game think the plan is to try put the game to bed by 60-70 mins and then give some of the youngsters a run out
Interesting team, a test for Hobden as we saw with Rylah in the last cup game. A natural defender rather than a winger like Rylah, plays CB/RB/RWB in the u21s, a real battler, solid and reliable, grabs the odd goal.
AMB
Laq Zach Gillesphey
Hobden Fullah
Anderson JRC
Knibbs
Kelman Tanto
Subs for those who don’t know:
Reuben Reid - winger/striker, very exciting, pace, tricks and a good size, only 17. I said we might see a cup cameo from him this season, nice to see it could be as soon as tonight.
Keenan Gough - CB/DM/CM, like Hobden a solid reliable player, bit of an all rounder. Captained at u18 and u21 level.
Paris Lock - winger, son of Chris, signed after leaving Wimbledon this summer.
Ty Ewens-Findlay - CB, signed after leaving Cambridge Utd this summer so could make his debut vs his old club.
Edna - former tea lady , could make debut as sweeper
Am surprised by the bench in particular. Thought we'd have some first teamers there to come on if needed. We have a great chance of a big draw in the next round and/or a chance to progress further so would be very disappointing if we lose this one because of the squad selection.
I’d imagine this is very low in NJs list of priorities right now being only 3 games in to the season
But why? Win tonight and we could get a home draw against one of the big boys.
A near sellout under the lights. Why on earth wouldn't we want that?

Thanks for that Scoham. I was having trouble remembering whether Gough had played in one of the Pizza Trophy games last season, and didn't fancy trawling back through the V1013 thread.
Have Cambridge gone with their first team, or loads of changes like us?
For some reason, those who rush to upload the Charlton teamsheet (clearly for the likes), never upload the bloomin' opposition one!!
Those poses are a bit different. Like actors head shots.
Eastwood looking rather inquisitive at something he noticed afar. Brophy looking defiant. Kachunga looking slightly perplexed. Mpanzu with a slight pensive stare and McLoghlin with a longing gaze to someone just to his side.

I wouldn't expect them to get a run out. It would increase their chances of injury.
Cowdungbeath?
Sorry bored. LET THE GAME BEGIN!
