Yep, often walk to and from North Greenwich tube. Always go via The Pilot Pub, one of my favourite London pubs.
Surely if you’re going to Charlton you walk from and to North Greenwich?

I usually swim it. Can take anything from 10 mins to 8 hours, depending on the tide.
Any decent pubs and/or industrial estates along the way to break the journey up?

I wondered where that disgusting smell was coming from in the Valley, I had been blaming the drains, turns out its you after your swim!

I usually get a lime bike/scooter from the Valley to North Greenwich station, they have them parked up along woolwich road or outside the station. It is the quickest way out of Charlton if you miss the train and queues build up.
    Thats a really good shout
  • Leave early and enjoy the river walk.   Good for the soul.
  • Whenever I use the tube instead of the train to go to the match then probably 9 times out of 10 I will walk to and from the ground. It’s around a 30 - 35 minute stroll that gives you the option of stopping off at a couple of pubs. It definitely doesn’t seem like it’s a two mile distance, possibly because the landscape effectively breaks into separate sections so visually you are doing a series of shorter walks rather than one big one.

Usually jog it in from there, but go long way round.
Can you stop texting me about your chaffing please.
I told you to catch the bus.

45 min max not including a stop off in the Pilot.
  • Tube from Morden to London Bridge - onto North Greenwich - walk to the ground- piece of piss

Wouldn't it be far quicker to get a train from London Bridge to Charlton?

  • I've done that many times too but I try and avoid the build up of people at London Bridge and love the 'scenic' walk from the o2 to The Valley😂
  • Inspired by this thread I walked back to N Greenwich after the match today (instead of usual bus).

35 mins from stadium to tube entrance. I'm 6'3" and walk at a fair clip.

Enjoyed it. Will the rough industrial bits eventually become swanky flats, too?

Next time I'll have a quick stop at The Pilot.

The Charlton Riverside master plan suggests most of it will be flats eventually, but it's more centralised on the area between the Barrier and the Anchor and Hope.

The retail parks and aggregate sites will be largely untouched
  • It’s a long walk and Uber’s don’t show up.
    get the bus

The B&Q store is going to be demolished and replaced with flats and the car park will be covered with flats too.
