Early days yet, but quite a few surprises in L1. And how nice to post this in "Other Football and Sports" rather than "General Charlton"
Stevenage on top with 4 wins out of 4, with Jamie Reid scoring 5 goals.
Peterborough and Plymouth bottom with 4 losses out of 4, while Wycombe have also had a terrible start to the season with just 1 point from their first 4 games, and Reading have zero points from 3 games.

Wycombe on just the 1-pt after four games... How long before Dodds gets sacked? - He's started the season as badly as he ended it6
-
Stockport near the bottom too. How much difference a new season makes!0

Migbt be an ideal time for Peterborough to replace Ferguson with McCann13

Might be in minority, but not surprised with Peterborough being near bottom again. They had a poor season last year, and eventually pulled themselves away from a really poor relegation lot.Just feels they've finally ran out of steam with manager, players as a collective, and ownership getting things right.6

Home to Reading this weekend who've lost all 3 games so far. If Wycombe lose that then surely he has to go.1 -

Would expect Dodds to be the first manager sacked. Should have gone after the Playoff semi loss.
Peterborough starting badly isn't a surprise, they've lost their key attacking threats and haven't adequately replaced them. Also get the impression Mcanthony is one Twitter rant from selling them.0 -

So glad we are not part of the conversation regarding us in this league…🥳😁5

Interesting one with Wycombe is that they’re playing better each game but are continuing to find new and exciting ways to throw games away.Wouldn’t surprise me if they hit some form soon but equally reckon they could hit the panic button. Dodds doesn’t inspire confidence.
Leyton Orient’s start is a testament to Richie Wellens and how he’s managed to recover from a complete upheaval in the Summer.
Stockport are probably playing the best football in the league for the first 60 mins in each game, but they are continuing a worrying trend they started last year of throwing leads away. They’ll need to cut that out if they’re going to challenge at the top.
Plymouth’s start is the most alarming. They’re really not playing well and are not looking at turning it around any time soon.0 -

The whole business model of the club relies on them getting big fees for players they discover or bring through, enabling them to buy the next generation of talent, but without these fees it becomes much harder to do this. Jade-Jones went to Germany on a free, so like us with Aribo, they'll only get a tiny development fee.0 -

Am I alone in not absolutely hating league one?
Tickets were easy to get, drinks were easy to buy, stewards were for the most part relaxed. Also I actually quite enjoyed seeing these random northern towns which otherwise I would never have seen.
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't happy us establishing ourselves as a league one team and am over the moon we're competing higher and much closer to where I feel we should be.
But having gone up and down the country, including some midweek aways, I actually didn't mind it.

And not just random northern towns, but also the attractive southern/southwestern/western places like Exeter, Cheltenham and Shrewsbury.0 -
Don’t quote me on this, but I’m fairly certain Shrewsbury isn’t in the south.0

Burstow goal tonight against Reading.0

Not going well for Appleton.Pic due soon I reckon.1

Still unbelievable we chose him to be our manager.
"Michael Appleton is now 1 win in 24 league games. Thats a 4% win ratio"2 -

That Bolton v Reading game was a poor standard. A couple of stand out players in Cozier-Duberry and Cissoko but overall, the standard felt a long way off and Bolton will be fuming with themselves for not putting that to bed.
I know he scored a heavily deflected goal, but saw very little from Burstow to suggest he is the man to lead the line in a League One promotion campaign.0 -
Not sure Brighton would be willing to let him go permanently but Cozier-Duberry looks like he would really suit our RWB/RW role. Doesn’t have the size but looked to have the energy pressing and getting stuck in that Nathan Jones loves as well as being a creative outlet. If we’re still looking for another RWB/RW in January someone I’d love to look at to provide competition with Apter0

Watched Bolton twice now and Cozier-Duberry the standout by far in both games - far too good for league one0
