No one expected Charlton to come away from Ashton Gate with a 0-0 draw in Week 2 of the Prediction League. Indeed, only 4 of 34 competitors that chose the fixture thought we would come away with a point. If there was a bigger upset, it was that our neighbours from up the Old Kent Road managed to be the Graveyard Prediction of the Week. Like others, I saw that as a 1-0 home banker. For the benefit of newbies, it's time to explain a few things that go on around here. First of all, the Noughty Step is a place you go when you score zero for the first time. There's a virtual prize for the person who avoids the Noughty Step for the longest time during the course of the season. Next, it's time to mention our three Virtual Prediction Leaguers. The optimistic Hopeful Harriet always predicts that Charlton will win 2-0 and Millwall and Palace will lose 2-0, while miserable old Pessimist Pete picks the reverse of these scores. Of course, there is always controversy about the ordering of results. In previous years, they've been order alphabetically and sorted in reverse from Z to A in alternate years.
