I’ve got to say Gavin didn’t look overly enthusiastic to be there either.
    Think he's just not a natural  presenter/talker.

What he actually says is usually of interest.

Another feather in the cap for the club. These people don’t have to do these Q&A’s full respect to them for giving up their time.

Also on the CL pod tonight the guy from the river ale house said he had spent the afternoon today with Gavin Carter at the valley  at the clubs request to give advice on what they need to do to improve the offering on matchdays

Ooh Lucy asking "is it a happy camp?" on the back of the recent departures, and refering back to the training ground Valley split from the last meeting.
I was impressed with Lucy's questioning. Firm and to the point, but still polite. It's easy to criticise when you're not the one doing it, but in comparison sometimes the Supporters Trust can be a little bit "woolly" in their questioning.

@Chunes, you can go back and watch on the club youtube page, but yes.

When Carter mentioned that someone from a pub had walked around with him today, and I hadn't realised it was from The River.

It makes sense of course, as it's run by Charlton fans/

Loads, basically agreeing it's shit, there's not a magic wand to fix it overnight but Gather and Gather are on borrowed time by the sounds of it. Going to trial pre pouring pints, Bovril and hot chocolate (I kid you not) to try and ease things, also working with Asahi (who own Meantime) to ensure all kiosks and beer lines are fully functioning

Gavin said he had a conversation with the CEO of G&G parent company and told he or she that it was not acceptable, and he did use the word furious after experiencing it himself with Ed Warwick walking around Tuesday night, and that’s with a -5000 crowd.
Said he told the CEO it was last chance saloon to get it right.
Talked about more tills, more training and pre pouring beers and bovrils etc, and cans to be used.

It's because he knows someone somewhere on a fans' forum is getting his name wrong again

Plenty. Gavin really not happy with Gather and Gather and made his feelings felt to their CEO.
They've apparently come up with a short term action plan which includes having a senior supervisor at every kiosk overseeing things. That might actually help a bit. Someone with a basic competence about customer service.
He mentioned every person working or representing Charlton should work to the same ethos, top to bottom.
All sounds very nice, but when you're paying them peanuts I wouldn't be expecting too much.

I’m not being funny but with Peroni at £7.70 a pint and long queues you don’t need to be paying people peanuts ! If they are then G&G need binning off asap. Imagine how many more pints they would sell if the service is fast and no long queues to put people off

Lucy the Fan liaison going in hard on the issues with the kiosks, both Ed Warrick and Gavin deeply unimpressed with what they saw on Saturday. Gavin used the phrase "in the last chance saloon"
Even that’s run out of peroni!

    Am I missing something?

They are going to pre pour a hot drink do that it can stand there and get cold?

They don't have to do Q&As in this format but they are now required to write and subsequently review a fan engagement plan (FEP). These meetings are one of a number of types of fan engagement that the club has identified in the FEP they recently published. The Football Governance Act will require more and more evidence of good quality fan engagement and this seems to be one popular way to do it.
  • Is the meeting available to watch on catch-up?

Surely then the answer is to turn the temperature down on the hot water ‘urn’ ?

    Not true.
You have to pay cash for a packet.

The implication was the water is far too hot ?

They must have already been pre-trialing pre pouring hot chocolate, because my last couple were stone cold.

You need hotter water to make tea than you do for Bovril or hot chocolate, the latter two don't have added milk to cool them down. They are then thermonuclear and if bought at half time can't be drunk until NJ makes his subs on about 70 mins

Matter of opinion I guess as to what temperature difference is really needed but if you are being serious that would suggest any catering outlet that serves both hot chocolate and tea always has unhappy chocolate drinkers?

Id be more unhappy if my hot drink turned out to be cold I think.

On balance don’t buy the offering at all is the best option it still seems.

Most cafe's won't serve hot chocolate made with water but will use hot milk, that isn't an option at a football stadium
