  • Stick with game 1 team for me, i think we will battle to a 1-1 draw COYR
  • I think we will stick with last weeks team, if we can stay in the game and then bring on Leaburn and Tanto then I think we can get a result.

My concern is that without Leaburn or Tanto starting then we will lack an outball and could get penned in and put under pressure without being able to get out. So I’d start at least one of them and then bring the other on so that we’ve always got that physical presence up top
  • As much as I'd like to see Kelman get off the mark and become a key player for us in our bid to remain in the second tier, I can't shake the feeling that he'll continue to struggle and I can see him—for better or worse—get dropped in favour Leaburn whom I think might shine and is definitely worth a punt given our forwards' slow start.
In a more positive twist, I have a funny feeling that Carey might become one of those aforementioned key players and I reckon he'll bag one for us against Bristol City.

Hoping for a 1-1 draw, but fearing a close 2-1 defeat for us, sadly. Excited, nonetheless!

It's funny, I had exactly the same feeing about Godden when he started last season. Shows how much I know.
  • Regarding the out-ball situation, let's not forget how direct Apter and Carey were in their respective midfield roles last week. Even without Leaburn or Tanto, I feel we'll be ale to hurt them on the counter, and this may suit Kelman. Having the luxury of bringing on Leaburn and Tanto towards the end of the game, against a tiring defense, where we can hold the ball up in the attacking half, would give us a great tactical advantage.

This, I was toying with the idea that we should start both Tanto and Miles to help keep us up the pitch but one of them coming off the bench will be key if we are to get anything out the game. Also think they are still worried about putting too many miles on Miles legs (pun intended) to soon so he will be on the bench after starting on Tuesday.

Tanto to start up top with Kelman. I think Charlie will be quiet for periods but also find more space as Bristol will play a higher line and try and put pressure on us. He will get chances to run in behind and chase balls into the channels. Pretty sure he will cause them some issues doing that and hope he can put one away. Those 2 will be enough of an out ball for us. Keep it tight for 70 mins then make the changes.

TC off the bench with his pace running at tired defenders alongside Miles putting the absolute shits up them.

    Smash and grab 0-1 UTA

  • My Bristol City mate said they play gung-ho football, and their manager talks about chaos over control. Thinks the first goal will decide it, which we know is often true for us.

Will be interesting to see if that suits us, or we’re better vs more possession focussed sides.
  • 2-2 draw , they're going to be wide open, press very high and attacking under Struber which will give us gaps to exploit . Just concerned Twine is going to score a couple of screamers for them.

Tanto, Knibbs and Leaburn off the bench could be fantastic options to be able to call upon.
  • NTT20 betting show has put up Rob Apter anytime scorer at 7/1. And advised people to avoid putting Bristol City into their accumulators…

Bring on the 5-0 defeat with a Rob Apter injury.
Them lot actually love us a bit too much. The Nathan Jones effect.

  • Will be a good test of how close or far off we are to some of the better teams in the division. I think we’ll lose but hope I’m wrong of course.
  • 3-0 them, unless they have an off day. Would take not turning up at all if it was offered now.

I'll up you to 5-0.  We will be proper guff and CL will resume it's default setting of abject resignation...

    ONLY JOKING!

    1-1

Full of confidence then I see
  • It's going to be a tough game.  I'd very happily take a draw.
  • A point would be a great result for us and I think this squad has it in them. Going to need a decent City side to be off it a bit and us to be rock solid at the back, but it's possible

Just noticed Chelmsford are at Weston super mare tomorrow. Opportunity to wave at Lyle Taylor perhaps on the m4, unless they're already there and making a weekend of it.
  • Bloody hell, City beat a naff Wednesday side in their first match of the season, and all of a sudden we're toast and may as well not turn up, second match of the season and we are already done for...🤷‍♂️
    Excellent Championship knowledge

  • Gonna go for 2-1 to City with them scoring a sickner late on, I think we'll play well though

Think you need a second edit.

Only quoting the overwhelming opinion on here that we will be lucky to avoid defeat that's all mate, am I not right in that observation, maybe they are good, but so are we...or maybe that is wrong as well...

    Nope.
You still need a 2nd edit.

They beat Sheffield United, not Sheffield Wednesday.
    FFS...bloody spell checker again...😉
  • What a blockhead.
  • At least I seem to have brightened up everyone's Friday...😂
  • I know it probably isn’t going to happen but I would prefer JRC instead of Doc for this one.  Bristol has a lot of pace in the midfield and while JRC isn’t exactly pacy,  I have a feeling he can close out their midfield a little quicker than Doc
  • I think 1-1 or 0-0

Can’t see it after how knackered he was at the end of Tuesday .  Suspect it will be the same side , bar maybe one of the strikers instead of Kelman.  0-0 or 1-0 either way .
