Is the Derby game on the Tuesday or on the 21st? It can't be both...

    Wed 21 January 19:45

According to Derby's website, although they now have a game scheduled for Friday 23rd, so don't be surprised if we play them on Tuesday 20th
It was originally on Wednesday 21st January, meant to be our only Wednesday fixture this season. However, since their fixture against West Brom is now on Friday evening it’s been moved back to the Tuesday.
Someone should tell our media team as it's still showing as the 21st.

Saturday 3pm to the next Saturday at 12:30 is within 7 x 24 hours periods, yes, but it’s eight days, so I think the pedantry is with you to insist that it’s one week.

If we count Saturday - midweek- Saturday as 3 games in a week then it gets absurd because one game can then be counted as being a part of either week to suit your argument.

So with midweek games all month, you get this:

    1st -8th = 3 games
    8-15th = 3 games
    15th- 22nd= 3 games
    22nd-29th = 3 games

How many have been played? 12? No, it’s only 9.

    A true 3 game week:

Friday, December 26th: Norwich City (a) - KO 3pm GMT

    Monday, December 29th: Portsmouth (a) - KO 7.45pm GMT

Thursday, January 1st: Coventry City (h) - KO 3pm GMT

Because a week does in fact consist of 7, not 8 days as everyone on CL seems to think nowadays.
It's not a CL thing though, is it? For as long as I can remember managers, players, and fans, have talked about Saturday to Saturday being a week of football. For example, win Sat-Tues-Sat and you've picked up 9 points this week.
Not true. People used to say ’over an eight day period’. Maybe I remember further back to pre- social media bollox.

Or maybe instead of things being “bollox” the world changes and evolves, including language

I also remember before then, and football people still used a football week as Saturday to Saturday. No idea why you're blaming social media.

Pardon my ignorance, but if a match is on Sky Sports+, might it be shown in a pub?

If you can convince the pub staff then I can’t see why not
