Clean on Boxing Day. Had to go straight to family after the game so no chance to wash it before the Wycombe match a couple of days after. Won again. Clearly this was the reason we won both matches. No way was I washing this luck out.

Had a niggling doubt after the Lincoln draw but thought, nah, still unbeaten (Home ST holder, can't get to many aways). So the combo of the 1998 shirt and ski rollneck remained unwashed for the rest of the season...the thermal layer wasn't much fun at the warmer games towards the end of the season.

Surprisingly, it doesn't actually smell THAT bad, unless its essence has just permeated every fabric in my house and I've become accustomed to it. There are some clearly visible chicken balti pie stains on it, though.

No need to thank me, I took it for the team. Forget all this nonsense about putting Thierry on the right, changing style of play etc. I know the real reason we went up.

I think most of us could make a similar claim. Parking in the same spot, wearing the same shoes, etc. For me, my Stiff Little Fingers football shirt. Only time I didn’t wear it and watched the match, we lost to Wrexham.

I’m really not sure you’re a reliable judge of that, particularly if you’re not layering underneath!
