I came across this cameo from the Museum archives on YouTube.
The only spoiler I will give is Charlie Wright drawing a “reaction “ from the Millwall contingent. Good old days.
Well worth a watch.

    I was at Charlton v. Millwall 31/12/66

    Sadly not much info here/

    The attendance was 29,529 though.
'Millwall's average home attendance during their 1966 season was 9,178. That was a decrease from their previous season's average of 11,583'.
    (I looked that up).

I was looking for myself in the crowd. I was probably hiding.

Charlie Wright you absolute legend, and not even a yellow , nice to see Charlton actually putting a performance in against ‘ Pwoper facking wall ‘ for a change , some great old school challenges in that with players just getting on with it .

I don’t know whether it was this game, but one of their fans bought a bulldog in. Interesting.

They played in white for a few seasons end of the 60's early 70's ........ they thought they were Real Madrid.....probably wanted to compete with Palace who thought they were Barcelona around the same time changing their colours and their nickname to Eagles from The Glaziers ........ muppets the pair of them.

First match I remember being at the old Den for me this one and a perfect view around the half way line in front of the TV cameras and straight behind Ray Crawford for our goal.

Hated going through the same turnstiles as the great unwashed as they didn't have an away end or segregation as far as I remember back in those memorable days.

My first venture to the old Den was our 1-1 draw in 1976 when Tony Burman scored late on.

My first away game at the old den as well - for some reason I stood in the CBL with a few mates for this. We kept quiet when they scored but Burman scored fairly late in the second half and it kicked off when we celebrated.

My first Charlton game at The Den, lost 3-2 when the two teams were going for promotion, 1st March, 1969.

Or, if you believe AI, August ‘69.
