Charlton Wembley flags

I was quite sniffy about them when I first arrived, but they actually helped the occasion and make a great souvenir too.Pelham123 said:Masterstroke. Looked great at the game and on all footage.6 -
I was delighted. Especially after I paid £15 for one outside for my son. So he now has that and about five of the freebies.1

Went on a walk from Brockley down to Lee via Blackheath to clear my slightly blurry head, and kept seeing the flags outside people’s houses. Cant pretend I didn’t get a bit teary. Keeping mine up for at least a week.18

The community trust and I supplied tickets and transport to the Burton game for three very special children and two adults from the school we attend, their first ever live football match. For obvious reasons they weren’t at Wembley but thanks to a kind steward who rounded up a few unused flags I’ll gift them to them on my return to school after half term.26

Having had both cataracts removed I no longer have to wear glasses. Being short most flag poles were at the right height to poke both eyes out.Definitely a health an safety issue 😉2

Current home is the parcel shelf of the car.

A few had some sword fencing moments around me. Woman behind kept tickling my ear with it, didn't know her from Adam...😁5 -
Home office wall is one up already, son bought home 5 to put up in his room and both daughters have one as well. Great touch10 -
I've got about ten flag poles to list on Ebay, all authentic all from the Wembley Play-Off Final, but none have the flags, you'll need to buy those separately...Rufus is a dogs name said:

I considered other phrasing, but decided that 'a quick yank' or 'a sharp jerk' would be just as bad.4 -
For the museum's collection

I lost my flag on the way home. Or at least, my friend who borrowed my jacket says it was never in the pocket of the jacket I lent him. I'd happily take a spare that's going!0

Got back to wood green last night and there were loads of spurs knocking around with flags n stuff. Me and my boys rolled down the high road with our charlton flags haha! It was quite windy, so they were on full display. Went into nandos, asked for a table for 3 and the guy was like "you can come in but don't kick off with anyone in those white spurs tshirts" i had to explain to him who we'd been to see and that there was no danger of a tear up from either side! Saw an old bloke at Waterloo with about 10 sticking out of a rucksack!!! Either he checked the bag or must’ve bought it after the game just for the flags..0

Took my son to the National History Museum this morning before our train home and got stopped by security wanting to check the flags poking out my rucksack. Think they expected Palestine flags and looked puzzled to see Charlton Athletic.

My lad went and rounded up 17 before leaving. At London Bridge some fella asked him how much he wanted for one! He gave it for free. So at home we now have 20+ as my girl bought some too.
Maybe they will become wallpaper in his room..!6 -
There were two kids sat behind me and a lot of the time was spent with the flags being gently draped over my head until right at the end, where one of them managed to more or less jam the stick in my ear hole. Needless to say I wasn't a huge fan of the flags.fenlandaddick said:Arsenetatters said:Having had both cataracts removed I no longer have to wear glasses. The only right winger we were following is Thierry Small.Callumcafc said:Flags are causing a stir on r/london reddit

My son kept hitting people around him with it. Gave up telling him in the end.Garrymanilow said:

The wife almost poked me straight in the eye with the stick end of her one, I narrowly avoid death or blindness.4

Mine will be going up on the wall of the bar.2

I'm invading Poland in the late summer. Think I'll take my Wembley flag along for the trip.Callumcafc said:Flags are causing a stir on r/london reddit

Due to see our son in a week or two so can give him one of ours for you if you're not sorted by then.....JiMMy 85 said:I lost my flag on the way home. Or at least, my friend who borrowed my jacket says it was never in the pocket of the jacket I lent him. I'd happily take a spare that's going!
...but guess you won't be around the club for some while for him to drop it off there.1 -
Tracey Leaburn came over and asked me if I could get her two flags for Nathan Jones, I got two from the seats in front which were empty.12

I wonder if it's him that's putting them on eBay?Leaburns_Dead_Leg said:Tracey Leaburn came over and asked me if I could get her two flags for Nathan Jones, I got two from the seats in front which were empty.28
