MATCH THREAD : Charlton Athletic V Leyton Orient : Lg 1 Play-off Final : Sun 25th May 2025 : KO 1pm

******************************************************************
Here we are everybody, at the point not many would have even dreamt about if we went back six months, Play-Off Final against Leyton Orient in a sold out, (Charlton anyway), Wembley., We will be wearing our home strip for today's match, Charlton wore red during our last two triumphant visits to Wembley back in 1998 and 2019, and fans are once again encouraged to wear their colours with pride this weekend.
Following a very good last six matches that resulted in wins, Orient managed to scrape into 6th spot and meet us here today after a close penalty shootout win against Stockport in their semi to make this an all London Final.
The Addicks will once again be backed by a sold-out following, with just shy of 40,000 making the trip across the capital, although we all know that could have been more given half a chance, Sunday will mark the 58th meeting between us, with the Addicks winning 25, the O’s 21 and the remaining 11 meetings resulting in draws, so reasonably closely matched, although we all know stats mean naff all today.
Asked for an update on Luke Berry, the gaffer said: "He's closer, so we'll just have to see," so keeping things very close, but whoever dons the red shirt today we know will leave nothing out there
Andrew Kitchen will oversee proceedings this weekend, assisted by Blake Antrobus and Shaun Hudson, while David Webb has been named as the Fourth Official, (VAR) will be used today, having come into place since the 2022/23 play-off finals. Michael Salisbury will be the VAR, so that could well throw up even more controversy, not a fan myself.
So, LETS GET THIS JOB DONE...COYR 🏆
Team news...

Feeling very jealous of those there today. I was there in 1998 and 2019, but can't manage it this time. Come on you reds. Hope everyone has a great time.5

Bumped into Andy Hunt when we arrived. Currently works for AZ Alkmaar in Holland who also have a Europa League play off game today but he's come to support us instead. Top man.15

I’m devastated to say I’m watching in Crete, booked the holiday in January. Emailed a sports bar and they said they would have it on.I walked in and they said no, I was about to rip a TV off the wall and then they realised they had it 😂🙄5
