Portents

This isn't a prediction thread or a claim that the outcome is written in the stars.  It's just a list of reasons why anyone suffering pre-match nerves ought to be able to relax, if only a little. There are some substantial portents ahead of the playoff final that we should acknowledge.  Do you have any more?

1. We've never lost a peace-time match Wembley to a team from south of Derby.
2. We've never lost a play-off final.
3. We've never lost a 13:01 kick off.
4. We've never conceded a goal under an American Pope.
5. Since winning the FA Cup, we haven't lost a match at Wembley in red shirts and white shorts.
6. We've never lost at Wembley to a team in grey.
7. We've never lost a peace-time match at Wembley with a crowd of more than 50,000.
8. We've never lost a peace-time match at Wembley to a team from east of Derby.

Over to you...

    9. We've never lost a play-off match of any kind with a Welsh man managing us.

Few on both sides of the scales, as have seen the second one mooted by Leyton Orient fans

    (1) - We've not lost a lunchtime KO at all this season... What's 31mins in the grand scheme of things

    (2) - Leyton Orient wore red and had the West side of Wembley in 2014, they faced Rotherham who wore grey and had the East side of Wembley that season... and the Final is on the same day as it was back in 2014... Orient lost that day, but their fans are taking it as a sign of this being their year... Because everything from that day is in reverse.

    (3) - Leyton Orient have never won at Wembley as a neutral side, this will be their fifth attempt

    (4) - We've never lost when Andrew Kitchen has been Referee (1W - 1D)

    (5) - Leyton Orient have never won when Andrew Kitchen has been referee (1D - 2L)

We never lost at Wembley when a thread called ‘Portents’ has been posted on CL in the preceding week.

My Portents for us... Wembley's red again, Jacko's going to be there too but on a different day, and Sunderland are also in a playoff final so if they lose on the Saturday, history will repeat itself for us

We have never lost a match when I’ve been wearing my CAST “Che Killer” T-shirt, and I’ll definitely be wearing it on Sunday!

Surely Peterborough must have a Posh bird to represent them after their surprise win over Birmingham ?

All of the swords are on course to change division this year.

Doncaster & Bristol Rovers - Done
    Sheffield United on Saturday?
    Us on Sunday?

(may need fact-checking, there may be other swords I've missed)

Tyreece (sp.) Campbell scored the opener for Sheffield United.

Come to think of it, both play-off winning goals to be scored by T. Campbell would have made a nice double.

Newcastle (The Magpies) P#*#@e (The Eagles) Liverpool (Liver bird) Spurs (Cockerell) Sunderland (Black Cats eat birds)

On second thoughts, Watson to get the winner in both matches might have been better.

Stretching credibility slightly with that one!

Ah but if The Blades had won it would have been, it annoyed their neighbours The Owls.
