Charlton staff wages paid late? (Ed. Unsubstantiated rumour)

edited August 10 in General Charlton
Fortnight late I hear.

But as soon as I said I'd post on here my source kinda ran away.

Is this right?

  • If true it represents both a new low and a huge warning sign.

    Don't know, is it right?

You've raised it so I think you need to back it up rather than "kinda running away".
  • Players as well? Or just backroom staff?
  • If true, it’s terrible.
The players are in the minoirity on the payroll. A lot of people live week to week with money and cannot stretch meagre wages further than the next payday.
  • They weren’t paid late , it was more of the clubs pledge to reduce waste and save the world - he simply didn’t want to cut down trees for the crisp £20 notes

    Honourable :astonished:
  • Don't agree with all you say Henry - but in this case I do
Constant scaremongering that's not backed up serves no purpose

    Who told you ?
A bloke down the pub ?
If you're going to leave the post/thread, at least correct the title, which says it's a fact.
  • If it was true, then we would heard it a long time ago before now.
  • The OP is not saying it is fact but asking if anyone else has heard anything. Don't see what is wrong with that?

    The title says it's a fact !

I'm saying what I was told. I have no way of backing it up. Which is why I asked the question.

You are a special kind of arse aren't you.
    1. Learn to quote.

    2. You came here and posted unverified rumours with a title that looks like you intended to post them as fact.

    3. It smells like BS for 3 reasons
    A. Your source said it or didn't.
    B. Sort of running away isn't a thing. They ran away or they didn't.
    C. You've become so defensive it just smells like Joseph Dodoo

  • The OP is not saying it is fact but asking if anyone else has heard anything. Don't see what is wrong with that?

    The title says it's a fact !
Agreed it needs a question mark.

    Title amended.

Unfortunately, post 7pm there is now an admin charge of £3 applied to title changes. This is to encourage posters to make title changes earlier in the day.

Don't forget my 10% commission boss.

So it's ok to suggest people aren't getting paid with no evidence and than lose your rag when you get pulled up for spreading unsubstantiated rumours.
I asked a question. I was told something. That's all. I didn't lose my rag I just gave an opinion of you.
    Which I stand by.

I think the post should be closed, unless anyone thinks there's any truth in it.
This could cause you problems, couldn't it ?

Do you understand what "?" Means?
    I asked a question. I didn't say it was a fact.

    It has a question mark.

I believe you to be incorrect @iainment but I expect to be disproven.

Not in the title originally it didn't but does now. Don't you start on me.
  • Just this moment been told not true, wages have been paid and on time.

There is another, separate issue but the thread title is wrong.
  • The OP is not saying it is fact but asking if anyone else has heard anything. Don't see what is wrong with that?

Because Charlton’s “staff” are not wealthy professional footballers, they are normal people (mainly!) with real lives and very real mortgages to pay.

Speculating on their financial well being without any actual evidence is in very poor taste.
