Apart from Charlton. In The North Bank, Highbury, couple of times in late seventies when Tottenham were all over it. That Chelsea 2 Palarse 3 quarter final, where the Nigel got twatted by a kung fu kick (pattern here).

Few years ago I was at Torquay v Exeter. Don’t come much bigger than that.

Is that the game where the Torquay fans chanted “you dirty northern ba*****s”?

Palace Charlton fa cup replay 1969. All other derbies pale into insignificance.

I was at that one, missed the first goal because of the queue to get in.

Didn’t Harry Gregory score from the spot, Treacy got the one I missed.

    Excluding London derbies:

Rangers v Celtic (at Rangers, Celtic and at Hampden)
    Hibs v Hearts
Liverpool v Everton - first game after Hillsborough, truly moving
Norwich v Ipswich (not very local really)
    Brondby v FC Copenhagen
Two Singaporean teams (but they are all local derbies there)

Ray Treacy scores two, I think. The second was a screamer.

Liverpool v Everton 1976 - (on the old Kop, unbelievable atmosphere, a swaying mass of bodies, 23,000 in one end).

Everton v Liverpool 1985 ( I got a tape of Rapid Vienna for Colin Harvey prior to the European Cup Winners Cup Final - he gave me 2 x tickets for the next Derby match in return).

Nottm Forest v Notts County 1990 (FIrst Division - Clough v Warnock).

Luton v Watford 1983 (FA Cup 3rd Round, Pleat v Taylor)

    Watford v Luton 1983 (Taylor v Pleat - 5-2)

    Chelsea v Fulham 1982? (Boring 0-0 draw)

Sheff Utd v Sheff Wed 1990 (pre season game - Sheffield Cup Final. 2 sent off)

    Nigel's v Brighton 1983?

And of course....numerous Millwall v Charlton (first one 1971) Charlton v Millwall ( from 1968)..

I can add Nigel's v Charlton, Nigel's v Millwall, and various London derbies...
Chelsea v West Ham 1977 (West Ham took the Shed), Arsenal v West Ham 1983, West Ham v Tottenham 1981, Millwall v West Ham 1972 (Harry Cripps Testimonial), Chelsea v QPR 1989. All lively affairs.

    Non league -

    Dulwich Hamlet v Tooting & Mitcham 1974

Erith and Belvedere v Erith Town, this season, is the latest.

Enjoyed trying to remember a few of those......

Been to every Charlton v Palace/Millwall game home and away since the mid nineties.

Went to Millwall vs West Ham about 15 years ago and it is the definitely the most intense atmosphere I've seen.

A whole section with around 2000 & many more around the stadium - I think the club is being marketed as a more down to earth, local, urban club vs Galaxy. Very much a Latino feel about the whole thing & a lot of fun.

I know people harp on about the quality of the MLS but at least it’s somewhat unpredictable. I am sure Manchester City are technically perfect but by Christ is it boring watching them roll over the opposition 3-0 every week. Same for the other elite teams in the Premier League & their Champions League funded domination of everyone else zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I went to a palace Brighton game about 30 years ago. Bored out of my skull. 0-0 draw.

Been to a few including West Ham v Millwall but River Plate v Lanús sticks in my mind. Just the three people shot before the game. It’s a Buenos Aries derby but not a scratch on when River play Boca.

I went to Gavin Peacock's testimonial at Loftus Road, QPR v Chelsea.

Kicked off in the stands and there was even a mini pitch invasion. Very lively for a 'friendly'

Went on a Boca tour last December. The tour guide said that all Buenos Aires derbies do not allow away fans.

Boca's ground is fantastic and I'd recommend trying to get in. Two options are via a hotel or from the risky business of a tout BUT I'd always reckon on a fan having a spare. In this case it will always be a bonus if you can speak spanish.

Flamengo v Botafogo 2001 at the Maracana.

About 15k fans rattling around in a stadium with a 120k capacity, - quite a disappointment.

The day was memorable nonetheless, on returning to my hotel and seeing Shaun Bartlett's super volley against Leicester City shown several times on the local TV football show.
