Why does everyone on here rate Green so highly ?   I was at both games last season (home & away) and can't say he stood out that much, or have I missed something ?
he takes a decent set piece, works hard for the team, creates goals and scores them.  but then again I was over the moon that Reid came back for last season

Is Green really that fantastic? Can't say I've ever knowingly seen him play so it's an honest question, but I'm always a bit nervous about signing players who just go relegated from the same division as we're in. Plus Daggers weren't exactly renowned for their easy on the ey football so is signing a midfielder from a relegated, ultra direct team the way to go for a side aiming to be promoted via passing football?

i think without him and vincelot they would of sunk without a trace, as for players from relegated sides, i don't see parker upson etc having problems finding prem clubs.

No, but seriously Marriott - how many times have we picked up a player from a recently relegated side who has gone on to be a big success for us? We seem to have bought a lot of these types of players in the lasy few years and they've pretty much all ended in failure.

oh i know the exiled, but this is one who actually stood out in the league other than francis and mcormack who i'd never heard off before we signed them, danny green caught the eye in a bad daggers team and if they stayed up it would of been mainly down to him, i feel this one's different and better than the rest.

But we have to remember 1 player doesn't make the team. So if a team has just been relegated there likely to lose there best players. You can get some great buys from a relegated team. As good as green is he could never save daggers on his own

Seems a lot of money but his stats are good.

I'm in the minority in rating Wagstaff but if Green is a better player then bring him in.

As Golfie said he didn't shine in three games v us last year but Daggers are a team of workers.

And he can score from a Free Kick. When was the last time we had that?

When this thread kicked in with the rumour we had had a 400k bid accepted for Green I text my Posh supporting mate who lives in Perterborough and he said he would ask around of people he "knows" whatever that means. He still swears black is White that he heard Green is going to Peterborough. But that's just what I know. Prolly bollix.

    Green's a busy boy.

He passed medicals in SE7, Ipswich and Peterborough today... ;o)
  • Perhaps he's quit footie and got a bit part on casualty...

  • Seems like a lot of money to me, hope if he signs he is good as I only saw the home game v Daggers last season and don't remember him tbh. Still lots of people on hear say good things and if he is better than what we have then excellent.

I've been hoping we'd sign a good crosser to play on the right, exactly what he's supposed to be. Though like others I can't remember him when we played them at home. No idea if he's as good as some are saying.

Stats are good, especially for a young winger, 10+ for both goals and assists in the last couple of seasons.

Strange. I sat next to you at the away game but it seems we were at different matches.

Well I certainly remember him against us last season! Fairly sure he scored against us too. Good player and was on my wishlist for this summer

Green tallied a goal and an assist vs. CAFC in the away game last season. I've no idea how he did during the other 89 and a half minutes as I wasn't there.

He scored a penalty at The Valley, too.

This is 100% true except it was 300k (he gets 30k). My mate plays for Dagenham and got a txt a few hours ago

Great finish from Frank Nouble there.

I don't think I have seen Green play but I have a good feeling about him so I would like this to be true.

The way he guided it over the line from 5mm takes a serious amount of skill and composure. Then he shows his passion and desire and commitment by getting back to the centre circle as soon as possible.

    But yes I was joking!

    Not sure if it has been mentioned on here, cannot be bothered to trawl through the whole thread again to check, but Reams claims to be the EssexAl on this one;

This is the sort of signing which will make other clubs look round at us and say we mean business, especially if we beat Peterborough and Sheff Wed to it.
