too early to call....depends on a) more snow, b) it freezing up and/or c) the surrounding roads freezing causing the postponement

    my guess is c

N.B, alternatively they can't make it down from oop north, my guess is they'd better leave now if they are coming by coach!!!!

Or safety considerations within and accessing stands.
  • Snow predicted pretty much every day for next 4 to 5 days nowt major but enough to keep it bloody cold and frozen, got to think about hartlepools slightly further away than walsall, should be ok though I reckon.

IMHO, the only way it will get called off is if the Pool are snowed in oop North.

    Off.

if it continues to snow for the rest of the week the roads are dangerous around the Valley.

It won't (just) be roads. The covers can't cope with the overnight temperatures, so the pitch gets frozen and it needs to be warm enough in the daytime to defrost.

in that case the smart money is very definitely on off...

Well it's not expected to get above freezing all week so i'd say it's unlikely to go ahead.

Doesn't look good and i expect it will be off as things aren't going to improve for a while.

Sounds like it will be off.

As Walsall were blamed for calling off the game too late what's the betting someone will complain that we've called off this match too early ; - )

Why they talking about calling the game off already?!? Anything could happen over the next few days

Did we never (ie when we used to have some money) invest in under soil heating etc ?

much too early to make a decision. Weather could improve by the weekend. Any bet Saturday is fine and sunny and positively warm at 5 degrees. I'd wait until at least 11.30am on the day. Imagine how many Hartlepool will bring in midweek, it's unfair to deny their fans a visit to our great stadium.

when I was last giving blood the doctor said

"Just a little prick with a needle"

    To which I replied

"I know you are but what are you going to do?"

I'll get my coat, gloves, scarf and hat.

Not much chnce of the weather improving - forecast is for more snow and even colder temperatures. If the pitch is frozen now ( as the OS says it is in parts) it is unlikely to get any better before Saturday. Selfishly, I hope it is off as I'm unlikely to be able to get there due to the weather and don't want to miss another game! I had to miss Millwall match as I couldn't get out due to the snow.

If the game is off, maybe this could be played on the 19th?
