He's Welsh, played for Celtic, Arsenal and West Ham and is ginger (sorry Ollie!), but for some bizzare reason, i've always liked him!

he's only 2 years older than me and both my parents died from Cancer - scares the sh1t out of me.
  • Moved out of Intensive Care today...........
    Keep fighting John !

How many of us are "too busy" ....?

    'Turn back clock'

Hartson told BBC Wales last month that he wished he could turn the clock back four years and act as soon as he found a lump.

"From the first minute I felt a lump in my testicle I would be in the doctors," he said.

"You're never too busy are you - there's no excuses, I should have gone and had it checked out.

"I wouldn't have gone through all the rigmarole I've gone through possibly, the operations and everything else.
  • A salutory tale, he'd still have had to go through an operation and post-op treatment etc, but the chances of survival would be that much greater.
  • When i saw this thread had been revived i feared he'd lost his battle, but i'm glad he's pulled through.

I believe he meant he'd possibly only have needed treatment for the original lump in his ball sack, rather than having to deal with the spread of secondary cancers to his lungs and brain.

That's why he stressed everyone needs to get the lump checked out ..... as soon as it's discovered.
  • Great news. Read an article about Mark Halsey yesterday and his battle with cancer. Lets hope he also makes a full recovery.

Hartson looks amazingly well, lets hope his recovery continues. With regard to Halsey his cancer was diagnosed whilst his wife Michelle was fighting leukemia, so lots of wishes go to them too.

Remember an article in the SLP saying he was training with us and the deal was being finalised.
Shame it never was as I reckon he would have been a decent player for us.
Seem to remember Curbs pulling out of another deal for a striker (from Tranmere?) after he failed a medical. Who was that?
