Maybe a red, but not as atrocious as was claimed earlier in this thread.  He should not have dived in two footed and to do so early in the game is naive.  Does not seem to be himself from the highlights and games I have seen recently.  Still got time for him and saving us from League 2.

Should not have been allowed to leave in the first place.
We got absolutely miles better without him? Surely that debate is done now?

Jones didn’t want May, that was obvious and that decision has proved to absolutely be the correct one for the team

I still think we flogged him to bring in more players, who is to say if he stayed it could have worked out.  Plus save 3 million? quid on bringing in Kelman.
But no one needs to say, because with the players we DID bring in, we gained promotion immediately after he left.

Honestly do not know why people still have to come up with hypothetical ideas of what might have happened had Alfie stayed. We had a very successful first season without him and are doing very well in the second (so far).
  • Blooming heck.

Guess you never really know what is going on in a players life and how that might effect them on the pitch.

But I'd be amazed if this didn't effect him.

Awful for Alfie and his family. Hope his brother gets the help he needs.

Some people ain't got a pot to p in and he gets 120 grand and decides to mess his own life up on drugs and threaten his own family, as said hope he gets help and can change but have no sympathy for him, very scummy tbh.

    Thats horrible

I had heard whispers about something like this going on but not to that extent. More like "one of his brothers is serious hard work"

No wonder his Mrs wanted to move back up North, can't really blame them.

Having fully read the article, it started the season when Alfie was with us.

Alfie being really upset in his farewell video now takes on a much darker meaning. This wasn't just his missus missing her family, this was two terrified people trying to get away from his brother, but not being able to say anything. Indeed I doubt anyone at the club knew the real reason for him wanting to leave, not even Nathan Jones.
  • Good lord, what a piece of work.

How the hell could Alfie concentrate on playing football with all that going on.

Terrifying situation for the family to find themselves in.

If I remember rightly, when with us, Alfie moved out of his house very quickly, and there were comments about it on here. It now makes complete sense why he left in such a hurry.

Yes, there were jokes about a CL poster stalking him.
It turns out his brother was stalking him.
Also I think there was discussion about the tall fences Alfie put up - possibly makes sense now.

Absolutely unbelievable and terrifying, explains quite a lot about his departure. Shows how anyone commenting on here should not make so ill informed assumptions about players actions.

Yes and all the more reason you don’t post photos of someone else’s property online. Clearly the May family have really gone through it and it was best for everyone that he left. We moved on, hopefully they can in their own ways, in time.

Bloody awful for the ones who have had their lives turned upside down by this
