Agreed and he looked better playing out wide today and with Fullah on the other flank. Meant there were other outlets and therefore he wasn't our only option all the time.Leuth said:We're a better side when he's on the pitch11 -
Jones has a shocking game... Mannion concedes a weak effort... Godden misses an effortNope lets again focus on the lad who played today as a Winger, and has just flown half way around the world

Missing the target from 10 yards is criminal. Just for once call it as it is instead of your default defend him at all costs approach.NabySarr said:Godden misses a sitter, no reaction. Campbell misses one, crowd sing fucking useless at him. Why the fuck are people signing that at our own player? Embarrassing3 -
Much harder than goddens chance but he should be min hitting the target. We would have gone on to win if that went in0
-
To not get that shot at least on target from that range was appalling.NabySarr said:Godden misses a sitter, no reaction. Campbell misses one, crowd sing fucking useless at him. Why the fuck are people signing that at our own player? Embarrassing
Godden at least got his shot on target and forced the keeper to make a save.1 -
I really don’t understand our own booing him, really poor form tbh24
-
Trying to equate the Godden miss with the TC one is pretty poor. Godden was kept out by a decent save but should have done better granted.
Campbell hits his miles wide under little to no pressure. Flying halfway around the world doesn't cause you to lose control of your feet.7 -
He wasn't playing as a striker today, not even when he got in that position
Shocking miss though1 -
Where have I defended him? I’ve said he missed a sitter, I also said the fans reaction was an embarrassment, which it wasbolloxbolder said:

The Godden chance was much easier. TC was wider but still should have hit the target, Godden should have scored
xG for Godden chance was 0.46
xG for TC chance was 0.18
but only one got the fucking useless chant12 -
Godden showed us last season that finishing isn't much of an issue for him.
Campbell has shown us for two seasons that composure is not something he has, or I think ever will be able to develop.
I still disagree with booing and chanting against the chance. Pointless.3 -
I love Campbell... As an impact player off the bench. But not to start. He did well when he came.on today but his shooting lets him down. When he starts he doesn't have as much of an impact and often leaves us exposed for large parts of the game.0
-
Other than the "finish" I thought Campbell actually had a good cameo...Dealt well with those double marking him, and again the issue partly has to sit with his team mates when that happens, its all well and good standing around in the box waiting for a cross (which TC was able to achieve today), but if you dont also give him an option, and give the second marker something to think about, you risk the cross never coming in11
-
Shocking miss, he has to at least get it on target. However there were four other players on the pitch today who missed even bigger "sitters", Godden being one of them.
We did however look far more dangerous after the substitutions. Fev, Fullah, TC and JRC all made a big difference. Going forward, we need to get these players more integrated into the starting 11.
TC needs to really work on composure and decision making. It's time for him to either step up or move on.
No need for any abuse, but fans venting their frustrations is part and parcel of the game.2 -
TC is the perfect player to bring on with 20 minutes to go, he shouldn’t start but give him the ball to run at a tired defence - he’s not a striker, he should literally get the ball, take a touch, cross it or run at the fullback - I’d want nothing more from him

Fullah and Campbell need to be starting against Watford, personally.ForeverAddickted said:Other than the "finish" I thought Campbell actually had a good cameo...Dealt well with those double marking him, and again the issue partly has to sit with his team mates when that happens, its all well and good standing around in the box waiting for a cross (which TC was able to achieve today), but if you dont also give him an option, and give the second marker something to think about, you risk the cross never coming in
Go 4-2-3-1.

Ramsay Jones Bell Chambers
Rankin-Costello Coady
Fullah Carey Campbell

Got absolutely nothing to lose right now in trying to be more attacking.

That shot summed up both points regarding TC perfectly, Effing useless chants shows he’s picked on more than anyone else, but the shot also proves he has zero end product and isn’t good enough in those situations1
-
Thought he did well when he came on with the exception of the very poor miss. We lost because the 11 that started were utterly pathetic and Jones left it too late with his changes.2

The stats may disagree with you. 1.08 pts per game when he starts. 1.4 pts per game when he doesn’t start.Leuth said:We're a better side when he's on the pitch2 -

Gillesphey has a 31.5% win rate when he plays the majority of matches, Jones has 29% but you can’t sit there and say Macca is better. Such a flawed stat because there’s 21 other players on the pitchBostonaddick said:

It is the most infuriatingly nonsense stat and yet it's one of the most commonly used. It drives me up the wall.Crispywood said:

The miss was poor but what I was most impressed with was that he didn’t get down about it like he might have in the past. He got his head down and kept beating his man. There was one lovely bit of link up with Fullah and he put in a couple of decent crosses. You could tell the defenders didn’t know how to handle him. If he had confidence and end product he’d be so dangerous15
-
It was a frustrating miss. When he didn’t snatch at it but took a good touch to bring it down I was just thinking that he could put it anywhere from that range but he put too much on it and sent it miles wide. Other than that he had a good game though, beat his man, stood up some good crosses and set up either Fullah or JRC, I can’t remember which, for a chance that we should have scored from. Looked much more willing to run at his man and City were very vulnerable to that today2

That midfield 2 doesn’t work as a paring, not quick enough. Docherty is shit but at least he gets about the pitchDDOUBLEE said:

There is no way as it stands a better Championship team is coming in for him in the summer.I actually thought he had a good game but that miss of course will dominate the conversation and the chant in the Covered Upper was unnecessary and not helpful.
The sad truth is we need to upgrade on him this summer, he’s tried his best but our ceiling with him is 18th and we’re going to need to improve a lot going forward next season when second season syndrome kicks in and we’re not starting the season buoyed by promotion. We won’t keep as many clean sheets as this season we’re going to need more goals as plain as that, something has to give and likely it has to be TC’s place in the starting XI1 -
Played the last 25 minutes in a defeat after playing two international games last week. But obviously it’s all his fault.3

No way at fault for today’s game. Missed a shot it happens, looked better out on the wing as it’s his natural position. If we get to a point of safety before the final I would definitely experiment with him and fullah for longer in a 4-2-3-1. Give him the freedom to express himself and he will do the job4

I saw the future today with Campbell not in the starting XI and it was like watching 1970 Brazil.MartinCAFC said:There is no way as it stands a better Championship team is coming in for him in the summer.I actually thought he had a good game but that miss of course will dominate the conversation and the chant in the Covered Upper was unnecessary and not helpful.
