    Not a post mortem but probably a forlorn hope that a change of tactics/formation is needed to get across the line.

    Siber and Lobato have played very well in recent games and did not deserve to be dropped.

    Karen is very stubborn so she will stick with her way.

    5 Apr: Liverpool, home, 2.30pm. FA Cup quarter final. At the Valley. £10 adult, £8 over-65, £2 under-18. Tickets from usual website. 
    12 Apr: International break. England play Spain at Wembley (7pm ko) on 14 April.
    19 Apr: International break. England play Iceland in Reykjavik (5.30pm ko) on 18 April.
    26 Apr: Southampton, away, 2pm. At St Mary's. Tickets not on sale yet.
    2 May: Birmingham City, home, 3pm. At the Valley.     £10 adult, £8 over-65, £2 under-18. Tickets from usual website. 

    That will be it for the season if we get 4 or 6 points from the last 2 games, and probably also if we get none. However if we finish third, which is possible if we get less than 4 points, there is one more game, Saturday 23 May at 12.30 at the Valley, against the 12th placed WSL1 team which currently looks like being Leicester City.

    It's a single game with the WSL2 side at home, because the top division finishes a couple of weeks later so a WSL1 side might struggle to organise the game with so little notice. Home advantage also partly counterbalances the huge advantage the WSL1 side gets from not having a break between the league season and the playoff.

    Something that has not gone unnoticed by the club in Chairman Carter’s recent chat with Cawley on his Substack account

    I would love to see more supporters support the women. Our attendances are very poor, particularly given the success. We are looking at what we can do there to attract an audience to the women’s game.

    1500 sold for the Liverpool game this weekend and those numbers would be repeated in the top flight if they don’t throw away promotion this season with 2 games to go

    It's not that surprising really. Arsenal attract a huge amount of the London women's football crowd even at WSL level. Chelsea fill Kingsmeadow but don't fill Stamford Bridge when they play there, West Ham, Spurs and Not Millwall all have fairly low average attendances as well with West Ham bottom of the WSL with an average of 1,595. Palace's attendance isn't that far off halved from last season but the difference is the teams in our league are making more of a fuss of the whole thing; internationals, WSL winning players and a clear indication that they are taking it seriously and trying to get up there. We seem to be succeeding in spite of ourselves and the turgid football and lack of any name players isn't a great combination to get fans in and coming back. Add that to the evidence from this thread that the club isn't trying to get the community involved and is allowing ground to be lost to Not Millwall with their complacency it's not an ideal scenario for growth.

    don't really think it helps playing at the Valley in front of 1,500.....surely be better playing at Welling or somewhere smaller?

    Why would they want to play somewhere with worse facilities? And why would the club want to pay back a £750k grant as well as rent to a non-league team?

    Birmingham with a 93rd minute winner against Sunderland. Sunderland had hit the bar seconds before and were down to 10 at the time due to an injury.

    They now move above us at the top.

    Well, that's annoying. Also looked like Sunderland played well so the worst possible set of events given that we play them next. We need to win our next two now to get the title but only promotion matters so just need to get more points than Palace. Good thing we have our excellent goal difference to rely on..

    We play Southampton next. Ironically Palace play Sunderland on the same day (they have Ipswich next though). So hopefully they do us a favour.

    That’s got to be a kick in proverbials! 

    Could all come down to the last game of the season, hopefully both a promoted by then and can make a huge game of it

    You can all blame my son. 

    He does the music for the womens games as well as the mens and also sets the half time quiz. The other week he was taking about one of the questions being about the unbeaten run etc. He jinx it all.

    I disagree. A draw would've meant they went into our game still needing something on the last day for promotion. As it stands, with their vastly superior goal difference over Palace, it means if they win their next match they will effectively be promoted.

    I still think that if us and Birmingham can both win our next games then both sides will be happy to play out a draw on the last day. They will be guaranteed the title, we will be guaranteed promotion. Obviously the pressure will be on us though, as we'd be the team that couldn't afford to lose.
