The lightness and brightness of Raoul Dufy's paintings always lift my spirits.

    So many.

Probably my two favourites (but would change daily - e.g. to include Turner's 'Rain, Steam and Speed')

    Dali - Metamorphosis of Narcissus

    T02343

    Picasso - Guernica

Guernica 1937 by Pablo PicassoI was lucky enough to be in Madrid recently and went to see Guernica. We were first in so got a relaxed view of it. It is brilliant and the accompanying stuff about the Civil War put it into great context.

A couple that come to mind

Oscar Wilde's tomb - sculpture by Jacob Epstein

The picture painted by my then girlfriend for her A level Art exam. Titled "fast food" it was a watercolour of a lion in a tree eating an antelope. So good it looked like a photo.

She got me into Impressionism & the great English painters that have featured on here from Turner and the like.

I think Rothko’s pieces in Tate Modern are my favourite works of art. So simple but so effective and calming.
