Sums up them, same as Wednesday fans, both are shitty little clubs in a dirty old town that think they're huge, sooner both are wiped from existence the better
    Sheffield Wednesday a little club??
    No, a shitty little club
    So just a shitty club?

Relegated us from the Prem on the final day of the 98/99 season and were complete cunts about it. Also were completely unbearable when we won League 1 in 11/12 as if they had the divine right to walk the league.

For some, it’s the way they celebrated sending us down from the prem in, I think, 1999?
For others, it’s was their billy big bollocks attitude when we walked the League 1 title, leaving them in our wake. 😎
For yet more, it’s Barry Bannan. Who conveniently went to you lot so we can keep hating him. 😂

I should add, I don’t really mind them. They have ideas above their station, but you could say that about half the championship, possibly including us.

I don’t know if I would call them massive (your lots dig at them) but I would say they are a very big club historically and with the potential to be so again.

Just take this season alone. Since the boycott ended they’ve regularly pulled crowds of 22 and 23k despite the points reduction, getting rid of their whole team and being absolute certainties for relegation. If Charlton, or Millwall for that matter, we’re in the same situation we would be getting crowds of sub 7k.

I don’t mind Wednesday , yes they cheered as we were relegated from the Prem but just the same as our fuckwit support celebrating Norwich getting relegated at the Valley to league one with us a few years later .
One thing they aren’t is little , they are a big fucking club with support we could only dream of .
Of course Sheffield Utd should take the piss out of them and give it to their fans that’s what football is all about , rivalry and hatred of neighbours , it’s not all nicey nicey .
Nothing would be better than sending the scum to failure of any sorts .
What do you expect spurs to do give Arsenal a guard of honour if they turn em over today , bollox they hate each other

I think it's a thing on this forum. I don't know a Charlton fan who's arsed about them.

Oh, I agree they’re a big club with history.
I’m talking about how some fans seem to think they have a divine right to success and view clubs they consider ‘inferior’ with a lack of respect.
Like I say, I think it’s an accusation that can be levelled at some fans of many clubs including ours.

Yes I agree. But not just some in Charlton’s case. I mean, what has been your nickname for us over the last god knows how many years? Smallwall? Millsmall? 🤣

Also, the disdain a lot of your fans showed towards Leyton Orient last season was palpable.

Something we don’t really do at Millwall, mock another club for being smaller than us. We understand that you get different sized clubs and unless you’re a Real Madrid fan there’s always going to be a club bigger than yours.
And also we couldn’t really give a toss. As I’ve said on here before we like being the smaller club that punches above our weight. (No other club has beat more higher league opposition in the cups than Millwall).

I always preferred the smaller clubs anyway.

Oops, I’ve taken the thread away from the original subject again, sorry 😁

Ah don’t. It was fairly even first half, but we were poor the second half. Made a couple of mistakes and Pompey capitalised. They were decent to be fair. Just seemed to want it more. Battled well. First to every second ball. Did all the basics right. Luckily everyone around us dropped points so it didn’t effect us too badly in the table. Need a reaction Wednesday though.

Result puts to bed any talk of top 2. We’re not consistent enough to even think about top 2.

Tbf you need to find a club smaller than yourselves first before you can mock them  ;)

Yep. They Beat us 3-1 away as well. They’ll be fine this season as will yourselves. I said on here you would follow up that shit show v Portsmouth with a solid performance. It seems to be your pattern this season.

Fair enough, maybe try a bit harder next time you play someone down there eh ie, Blackburn, WBA and Leicester...👌

It’s so strange, we always seem to do better against the better teams in the league than the teams lower down the league. Unless that team is Charlton of course 😉

Pompey are an interesting one. Probably have a lower budget than even us but find a way to grind their way to safety even if they have dodgy spells where they look for all the world like they're going to get cut adrift.

Am surprised he's never linked elsewhere , would have thought someone would have tried to get him higher up the league and see what he could do with a proper budget

    Bang out of order.

Would never find Charlton celebrating sending Palace down.

Sheffield United fans will probably sing a song about it for years to come.
We didn’t get flags out onto the pitch and all the players gather around celebrating. If I recall, our players celebrated a win. It was the supporters who went mental, not the players and staff.

Both clubs are bigger than Charlton (even if it's marginal) and I've been to Sheffield many a time and always found it more than decent.
I'm curious how many times you've been to Sheffied?

I doubt that as we have the third lowest, and you would think Hull or Oxford have a smaller budget than us. Hull because they started the season on a fee restriction.

Fee restriction yes but they will be paying substantially higher than us on wages
