The first minute or two of that felt more like a retirement announcement haha, thank God they titled it "The Way Back" so you knew it was gonna be good news
  • That music is way over the top....

    But really good to see...

Much missed and not far off now. Will get his minutes in and fingers crossed back in that starting eleven. Like Berry has the experience and intelligence to make the right runs to give himself goalscoring opportunities
Berry? Didn't we once have a Berry play for us before his legs went?

    Looks like he’s back!
  • Can't imagine we release that video unless his rehabilitation is in the home stretch. Amazing comments from him in that video, that from Feb he was playing with some limited movement. I assumed he was was just playing through the pain barrier, but appears more to it than that.

Will be great to have him back.

So why can we now know but before we could not?

Any rationale for this when it’s usually defended as player confidentiality/ gives the opposition news they should not have?

A little out of ‘ordinary’ to reveal this.
Probably coz I told everybody on here what’s what - if it was a secret surely mg wouldn’t have told my sister in law - no fuss
@MillwallFan was aware of this as well ;)
Millwall fan is a c*** and I think I’ve helped him realise it so has crawled back into his hole
Bang out of line. He might be a spanner, but he is also one of the fairest and decent people on this forum from my experience.
Yes. Exactly.  He's a decent bloke.
    Absolutely !

It looks clear that cheesy puns are beneath the level of respect that fans have for him!

Man, when he comes back onto the pitch, which could be very soon, he's gonna get such a welcome like he's never heard, he looked fit, ready, and full of condfidence in that video, and a testament to the great medical setup we have at The Club...

Have to give a big shout out to Adam and his team, they are with these players every step of the way, through a lot of lows I’d imagine, he looked like he cared so much in that video. I think as fans we sometimes overlook what’s going on behind the scenes. Really pleased and relieved to see Matty on the mend was concerned for him for a bit.

Great to see him close to returning!

Sounds as if Ronnie’s comments about him being involved in behind closed doors games were miles off the mark.

    What a shock
  • Yes, great to see Godden back, close to full fitness. The surgeon who messed up with the initial operation should be sacked off by the club, I guess they may have already done that.

I really like Godden but let’s be honest, he has never been a difference maker in the championship.  A nice squad player who can come on and nick a goal in the second half occasionally but I wouldn’t expect too much coming back from injury at his age

Lyle Taylor had never been a difference maker in the championship before he was there with us. The form Godden was in last season I absolutely think he could have been very impactful this time around. On the back of his injury though, I am minded to agree with your concluding remark. But here’s hoping… he’s still likely to be a more effective striker than TC

Hopefully this means he’s back and scoring the winner against Chels on sat

You'll remember the Brighton cup game when Aneke came on, we all chanting his name, and then he kicked a ball a fell flat on his face and had to be stretchered off.

Don't want this to be Godden- that guy has done too much to get to this point only for it to come crashing down on him.

someone who knows him told me at blackburn , if it all goes to plan he'll be on the bench for sheff utd game on the 17th

Rather this (helps us in the league) than risk him for Chelsea. Get him playing under 21 games, to get his sharpness back, then hopefully by the 17th we have our Godden back
  • Blimey, the Hollywood music took me on his journey, not a dry eye in the house.

Utter despair to start, the stirring passage to mark his progress and the return to emotional stuff as his band of brothers applaud his recovery at the end.

I can't wait for season two - maybe Gustav Holst's Bringer of War as he enters the pitch for the first time, followed by Handel's Hallelujah chorus when he scores the winner.  A final touch might be Tchaikovski's piano concerto no.1 in B flat minor as he turns to the crowd, waves and leaves the pitch in a mood of triumphant = if quiet, satisfied reflection.

    CUT!

Most of our players need less Hans Zimmer and more zimmer frame due to their injury records.

He'll be like a man possessed when he gets back out on the turf, he has been shackled since February last year with this injury, and been on the treatment table for the last six months, believe me, he will be on fire and out to make up for missing the first half of the season big time. and I for one can't wait for that moment...you just watch...🙌

I think him and Kelman on the pitch at the same time could be very exciting! to hell with the formation.
