  • Although I blubbed my way through most of episode 7 I’m starting to really worry about the final ST episode.

I discovered it just before, I think the 3rd series came out and it still blows my mind it hasnt got more traction. Ray is a solid role model, putting aside the body count he racks up. He is loyal, loves his daughter, his dog, really has a strong moral code. Doesn't grass and has a very healthy disdain for flouncing shittery

    Great guy
Yeah brilliant show. Mr Mercedes also seemed to go under the radar for many, which is now on Netflix.

For Better or Worse - part of the Walter Presents series (best foreign programmes with sub titles).
It’s Belgian and not dissimilar to the Scandi noir series.
It’s 6 episodes streaming on C4 and was excellent.
If anything it got better as it went along.
    I’d definitely recommend.
    I’d possibly give it a 9/10.

I enjoyed it. Last 25 minutes a bit twee but glad they didn’t finish on a cliffhanger.

Sometimes its not about the destination but the journey and that was how stranger things finale felt

I liked it, I've liked the whole thing. Shat my pants at least once in Eddie's season "Chriseeeee" and several times before that

Finished ST just before kick off and it’s affected me so much I don’t want to listen.
    I wasn’t disappointed.
Thank you Duffer brothers, thank you.
    I believe.

Stranger Things finale was about as good as it gets to finish a long running series like this. I wasn’t overly impressed with a lot of season 5 but this last episode pulled it out of the bag for me. It may have been soppy and on message but I soaked it up remained positive and had a tear in my eye. Spot on Duffers.

    I believe as well.

First two episodes of The Night Manager lived up to its billing.

Exceptionally good tv at its very best. A real must watch.

I enjoyed that finale of ST.

Don’t think they could’ve done much better.

…thought it was pretty average and a bit silly tbh. Watchable enough but it’s nowhere near something like Homeland.
  • Do I need to re-watch Night Manager 1st series to be able to enjoy 2nd series? I can't for the life of me remember anything about it....

I don't think so. There's a bit of a look back but more in the way of scene setting. Hugh Laurie, the evil arms dealer, isn't in S2 apart from as a cadaver.

I binged series 1 the night manager yesterday.

Meh. Annoyed me when his trousers dried quickly in the final episode and the people hiding in the back of the car. British dramas just don’t do it for me.

Just watched Ricky Gervais new show, absolutely loved it. Find him about the funniest comedian around.

I thought S1 was pretty bad despite the cast. Not sure I'll bother with S2
  • Waiting for the Out (Iplayer)

Prison drama looking at criminals and the effect on their families. The main character is a Prison teacher whose father and brother have both done time

Really good acting and covers a lot of different themes

Somehow managed to get my missus to watch Dark and with subtitles. She's absolutely engrossed half way through S2, which im delighted about as i get to watch it again. The music, the editing, the lighting, the acting...just stunning TV.

I'm 3 episodes into Task really enjoying it

Mark Ruffalo I always thought played the same character, dour, sarcastic or dry. He shows some really good range in this.

Industry is back for season 4 which I think is a bit unnecessary as the last one tied a lot of stuff up well and completed the journeys of the main characters. Fuck me this one is a lively opener!

I’d recommend doing so. We did because the first series was 2016 and we’d forgotten what it was all about. The plot of the second series does become relevant to the first so I’d say yes.

This is firmly in the ‘this is so bad it’s good’ category.

We binged in two days as both off work sick at moment.

Wouldn’t particularly recommend the series, it was more we couldn’t stop watching it like an eight episode car crash.

All the Harlen Coben ones are like that - weird and with terrible dialogue, my wife watches them and I normally give up quickly.

Run Away was a bit better than most of the others though I thought, I kept with it at least and wanted to know what happened.

The one with Dexter in was absolutely awful.

    Different peoples taste fascinates me

My missus watches all the Harlan Coben stuff, I agree with you. Its all expensively made dross for all the reasons you outline and more.

She won't entertain watching Andor or True Detective (first series still blows my mind) but will sit through ten hours of some Harlan Coben shite

I’m with @North Lower Neil and @Carter with regards to Harlen Coben series.

I watched the one with Dexter and one with the bloke who was the Sheriff of Nottingham and they were just such badly structured, unsatisfying, formulaic bollocks:

An English village. Not a real one, a twee fantasy one imagined by a trashy American writer. There’s a death, who could be the murderer? Maybe this person? They seem suspicious. Oh, they’ve been killed too. Looks like we were on the wrong track. Never mind. Wait why is everyone behaving weirdly?  Ok, let’s find a new suspect. What about that person? They look a bit dodgy. Hang on, there’s been another totally unrelated crime that adds nothing to the plot. What the fuck? Who did we suspect again? Oh yeah, that person. Oh, it’s not them, it’s that peripheral character and the clues to their identity either didn’t exist at all or were convoluted in the style of Ted Rogers in 3-2-1. How fucking convenient.

Rinse and repeat for any Harlen Coben show. Utter garbage.

Currently refreshing ourselves on the first series of The Night Manager. Aired in 2016 with series two starting early January. Glad we are as completely forgotten what it was all about. Two episodes in, very enjoyable watch, great cast, would recommend.
Just did the same, forgot most of it and enjoyed the re-watch. Went on to season 2 and personally thought nowhere near as good.

The only one I've seen was 'Missing you' which was utterly dreadful.

2 episodes into season 4 of Mayor of Kingstown. So far so very good. Such a great show
