  • We will never know, but would have loved to have seen what position we'd be in if he (along with Kelman and Bell) hadn't have been injured and missed so many games.
Amazingly, I think we may only have been 1 or 2 points better off, having gained a point at Wrexham and possibly Stoke.
From what I've seen, the only teams to have outclassed us are Coventry, Southampton and Middlesbrough. There's not much to choose amongst the rest. If we can get our best team available for most of the second half of the season, whilst adding one or two in January, then there's no reason why we shouldn't be looking at top ten or possibly even the 6th spot.
Whilst I agree Coventry, Southampton, Middlesborough and Stoke are the only teams to properly outclass us, the whole way we set up in games is to be structured and stay competitive, so even though we shouldn’t lose a lot of games based on the play, we also don’t create enough to go how have we not won that game. Which is an absolutely fine way to play with the quality of our team but we shouldn’t even talk about finishing top half let alone top 6 let’s stay up first
Edwards or Bell returning would allow TC to attack more, and that in conjunction with either Kelman or Godden up front could make us a far more potent attacking force.
Hull, Preston and Millwall are currently top six and none of them looked any better than us when we played them.
We ourselves were top six until the injuries in key areas hit us hard.
Yes it's optimistic, but not impossible, given how strong we become in the second half of last season.
  • Josh has been a massive miss, Burke and bell will be back for Boxing Day.👍
  • My favourite current Charlton player. He’s been a huge loss.
  • No specific date known but soon... From him today at Junior Reds party when I asked... How long "soon" is, who knows.

End of February, early March of course

Edwards underwent ankle surgery in mid-October. At this stage, he and Godden appear to be the only two longer term injuries that have required surgery.

He does risk placing his foot in awkward positions when going into tackles at full pelt, so perhaps a slight adjustment to his playing style could help reduce the chance of future ankle problems.

He's a full pelt kind of player, he doesn't have the first touch or crossing ability of say a Bree, but he will run through brick walls for 90 minutes without question.

I reckon if it takes longer to get him back to his normal play style then it's worth it.

He also has the best ability of getting us free kicks from sloppy opposition play than anyone else in the squad, the way he gets his body in front of the opponent at times. Probably a massively underrated aspect of our defensive play that we've been missing of late.
Josh and Kayne are by far my favourite players in this team, cant wait to see him back

Whilst also negating his effectiveness. I hope he comes back in realistic time to let allow himself to heal.

Love the bloke. He is a warrior and just the type of player we love. What sums him up for me is him actually trying to play on after the injury that was obviously serious enough to keep him out this long

Should be our captain next season imo.

I love Lloydy, and he's a top player, but, Josh just strikes me as more of a leader type, confident, loud, outspoken and has that grit about him.

Assuming we don't sign anyone of that type who are natural leaders next season, my pick would be Josh and Lloyd as vice.

I would play Edwards and Ramsay as wing backs personally. In this league, I think we need that defensive solidity.

I’m not sure, Edwards seems to be the joker of the dressing room more than a leader. I think on the pitch he definitely has the attributes of a leader but off the pitch maybe not. Though I guess we will never know what the players are like off the pitch so can’t really be the judge of who should be captain
Would definitely agree he has potential as a captain but maybe years down the line, he’s only 25 and only been in English football a couple of years. Think more experience is probably needed to be captain

Class player. Class Guy! That is all! Can’t wait for him to be back! Don’t forget the long throws either that we have so badly missed! Adds to our shithousery.

Josh Edwards is a class act. Great player, great man, and a born leader.

    Articulate, approachable, intelligent.

Frankly you couldn't ask for more from a Charlton Athletic footballer.

Lloyd 100% should be captain, Josh's time will come

That’s ok as long as our forward players are effective, otherwise maybe too defensive. I know both are ok going forward but it’s not either ones best attribute. Absolutely love both of them by the way.

Can we have a double like or a love button?!! For posts like this?, As long as we can use the love button to truly share our feelings towards others, CL is lacking some love between members at the moment!!😂😂
