Did a muddy Charlton yesterday and Greenwich Peninsula last week.
Once it settles down, Greenwich Peninsula will be a good parkrun, but with 583 last week and 608 this week, it's a congested start which I'm not sure is sustainable. My guess is that it'll settle at 300-400, which will be fine, but it just needs to get through the busy first couple of months.3 -
We let the 12 year old do his first 5k at Shorne yesterday, 29:24 and he didn’t look out of breath at the end, annoying child6

I was volunteering at Omagh Parkrun on Saturday, a ten year old was flying around the course, finished 13th (22:02 finish time), and looked much fresher than I felt (the cold wind wind would founder you).
That said, there were several who had clearly been out gallivanting on Black Eye Friday and we're not fully recovered.3 -
Having decided to ditch my 2nd midweek runs (sprints) and finally move to a winter schedule I was less concerned about being held up in traffic early on and didn't push myself too much (not that I can !). Imagine my surprise when I got my email to find it was my second fastest ever (I still don't understand how I did my PB) and highest age-graded score.3

Did my 45th of the year at Ipswich so all being well I’ll finish up on 47 which is annoying but Ho-hum…4

Anyone doing Sutcliffe Park on Christmas Day?Also signed up to the Olympic park 10k in a few weeks time, anybody done that before?1

If this is the RunThrough one, I've done the 5k version a few times and it's good fun. For the 10k, expect four circuits around the Taxpayers' Stadium (if the words to Bubbles are still on the side, don't be put off by seeing the words "like my dreams/ they fade and die").DoctorCharlton said:Also signed up to the Olympic park 10k in a few weeks time, anybody done that before?
Used to have a RunThrough annual pass - brilliant for midweek, last-minute runs - but unfortunately the cost has gone up and I didn't get so much use out of it this year, so am going to have to give that up next year.1 -
It is the RunThrough one, yes. First ever event I’ve ran in so looking forward to it.InspectorSands said:

I did get offered membership when I signed up but don’t think I’ll be running enough to get value out of it.1 -
Anyone who needs toilets pre-parkrun, Charlton park's will be open. Then the cafe is open post-run for coffee. I think the owners do a lot of community work like Xmas dinners so a takeaway coffee and thank you is a nice end to the run.1
