Maybe the club is speaking for itself again, now we are championship and on peoples radar again. We’ve been out of the spotlight for good reasons for too long.shirty5 said:Where’s Methven to give these new supposed investors a talk to?

To be fair to Charlie boy or whoever it was that advised the current owners they paid Sandgaard 10-12 million for a club that was worth a pound on paper and bar the team had no other assets to show for.Sword65pf said:

One thing about Charlie he definitely has the gift of the gabWith Wrexham and Ipswich they have property which they own, which sadly we don’t have with a Landlord who has over estimated of the 2 properties who he owns and prays that someone will be stupid enough to pay his valuation.Wrexham is mad thing with the documentary whilst Ipswich reached the dizzy heights of successive promotions and have the parachute money to fall back on
If anyone is willing/mad to invest this 20 percent then step on down1 -
Unreliable interweb site says he's only worth $4bn. Don't want a pauper owning our club.sam3110 said:Cal McNair17 -
Charlie in my book done us no harm, in fact done us good, think people jumped on a bandwagon due to his past rather quickly. Don’t think we should underestimate how attractive a club we are when everything is aligned,we all know what’s holding us back but if this lot get that sorted and we at the very least become championship regulars, who knows what could happen, we’ve done it before.shirty5 said:

I took a quick snap of this guy after he pulled up in the West Stand car park earlier. Seemed like a lovely fella.

Wouldn’t say no to a new owner if they were minted and were willing to invest but same time very comfortable and happy w our current ownership3

Interesting that would have been when Reading were in serious financial issues after their Russian owner turned out to be penniless. Good find!KiwiValley said:His father was nosing around buying a football club according to Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_McNair1 -
I am a paid up member of Cawley’s substack and I am trying to find the article re his latest Slater interview.
I log in and see there is a link to it but it doesn’t open directly to the article…….only getting some waffle about him creating it in a different text (which I don’t understand), with no further link to proceed, I have no idea what this means?
I am using an iPad.
Also, I cannot find a way to contact Richard directly, in order to ask how to find the article?
Can anyone help…..Cheers.🤞0 -
Seems to be working for me. Easy work around here is to find the article in your emailSoundAsa£ said:I am a paid up member of Cawley’s substack and I am trying to find the article re his latest Slater interview.

Actually 43 of the top 50 teams are from the US - it may explain why so many Americans take a punt with their loose change in English football.

I don’t quite get how the Forbes sports franchise valuation is carried out - and that’s from someone that owns a global sports business and has worked in the industry for 25 years.
Philadelphia Eagles - ahead of Real Madrid and Man Utd?
It’s not on commercial / sponsorship revenue. Data from my business doesn’t put any NFL team anywhere near the top global football / soccer properties. Not even close.
It’s not on global merch sales. NFL isn’t anywhere near as popular as the EPL or LaLiga globally.
Fanbase size? We measure multiple datapoints across search, social and survey data and the Eagles are nowhere.
So how is this valuation met?5 -

Reports seem to point to a hands on running of the Texans and not for the best of the club.
Seems they have performed poorly under his ownership, with many staff leaving or being fired each season.

They claim to base a lot of this off of media rights deals which seems iffy as a methodology.0 -

My guess is that that is this the estimated purchase price.DamoNorthStand said:I don’t quite get how the Forbes sports franchise valuation is carried out - and that’s from someone that owns a global sports business and has worked in the industry for 25 years.

There are far fewer NFL teams than soccer clubs so they are perhaps more expensive to buy

Bit of a mixed record with Cal McNair at the Texans. Very strange when he first inherited them. Hired a guy called Jack Easterby who I believe was a former chaplain and pretty much gave him control of the organisation and he made some bizarre decisions, lost a lot of good coaches and players and also had to deal with their quarterback sexually assaulting several massage therapists.Since then… they look like they’ve got their sh!t together and have a good head coach and young quarterback, one of the best defenses in the league and are playoff bound.I’d take his money but wouldn’t want him having too much influence on the club.1
