Happy Christmas
Happy Christmas
À la Recherche du Temps Perdu’s a million French words long.
Zettels Traum by Arno Schmidt is German - that’s just wrong.
This Christmas poem is meant to be both readable and fun.
And if you like its sentiment, then my job here is done.
To every Charlton Lifer, wherever you may be,
To all red blooded human beings who love C.A.F.C.,
We’re deep into December now, so I hope it’s not too late
to wish you Happy Christmas or whatever you celebrate
“May you live in interesting times” is how the Chinese curse
Sometimes when I see the news, I think “can it get worse?”
But look around, and take the time to understand and prove
The world is full of tragedy; but know it will improve
The Valley’s very nearly full to watch the Addicks play
The owners take good care at last - the bills they always pay
We’ve bought some useful players and we’re higher than for years
The match day spent among the crowd less often ends in tears
Thanks for making Charlton Life the world’s best football site
For sharing thoughts on football… and anything else in sight
While Millwall fans released on temporary leave go back to porridge
I’ll don the hat and scarf of red and see you all at Norwich
We all deserve a special time, with everyone we love
But miss the ones no longer here, who watch us from above
Hug your loved ones extra tight, and always keep them warm
And raise a glass on Christmas Day to our friend Headphones Norm

Happy Christmas all. This year has been by far the worst in the 26 years my wife & I have been together and whilst we know we've still got to deal with my mums dementia getting worse, we've got through it together and are prepared for what's coming.
We fly out to NY on Sunday for Christmas. Booked it back in January before all the shit started hitting the fan and am so glad we did. As much as I love being home at Christmas, a change of scenery will do us all the world of good (not so much the wallet).9 -
Happy Hannakah and Merry Christmas everyone from this atheist.
2025 has been a good year for me; I jacked in work and am loving my retirement.
I've got the time and just about the money to do what I enjoy which today was taking photos of the museum's Christmas card collection of which this is the strangest.

Forget the money and have a good time. Was gonna book Christmas away, but circumstances dictated otherwise.DaveMehmet said:Happy Christmas all. I wish all Lifers and their families joyous felicitations of the season ('appy crimble) for me without the Lass it is very sad, they said the 2nd year would be worse and they are right. It's just me the dog this year and I'm feeling my loss with many tears. It is what it is, I am lucky that I am able to stock up with good food and have a warm roof over my head, this site will help keep me going. I would love to visit the Valley but even if my ms allowed me enough mobility to get there I doubt there would be enough oomph to get me back up the hill to the station. So I'll watch through Sky and might even shake out my 12' long red and white scarf (it stretched!)
Go well my fellow Lifers12 -
Don’t forget Festivus, it’s for the rest of us.1

All the best mate. A lot of places open on the 25th for people on their own, might be worth looking into (or you could tell me to piss off and mind my own business)lancashire lad said:I wish all Lifers and their families joyous felicitations of the season ('appy crimble) for me without the Lass it is very sad, they said the 2nd year would be worse and they are right. Wishing all on Charlton Life a lovely Christmas from the Mull of Kintyre. Here’s to health, happiness and plenty of Addick goals and victories in 2026.
