  • Really love and appreciate the proper Charlton energy, intensity and aggression they all showed yesterday, especially 2nd half.

Glad NJ has (finally) found the roundest peg for the LWB role in Ibby Fullah (well done Ibby!) and that he has given Karoy and Tanto some decent minutes lately. Ditto for giving JR-C an earlier nod than usual, and well done to Joe for making the most of the chance.

As others have said, it was good to have the minutes applause for Norm, their fans were great and kudos to their player who told the ref he wasn't going to take the throw-in 'til the minute was up.
FWIW we were given a tip by the Blues fans next to us in Spoons in New St Station...... about the free 1875 bus service to the ground....... Bus stop is at the end of Theatre Approach on the Queensway (walk past Ozzie the bull to get to the doors out of the station.

Hats off to everyone who has played over the last few weeks, they must be truly knackered and perhaps playing through various knocks and pain. I'm sure it hasn't been easy to get through it, just as it hasn't been easy on the eye for us either but there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel now and after yesterday I'm very much looking forward to our (easier) Christmas and New Year fixtures with real optimism!

What a complete waste of your own time typing that response. Jesus.
Gee thanks, it was nothin' really...😉

It is nerve wracking, but also very exciting and why we wanted to be in this league.

It's not dramatic to say every single one of those , barring Chelsea, is a cup final, and by the end we will know if we deserve to be in this league or not.

At the end of that run of fixture I think we’ll know exactly what our season ultimately holds. Defining period
yes, and lets hope the 3/5000 glory boys turn up that went missing against portsmouth - unlikely, but this is the biggest game of the season so far so as long as those that care are there and turn up in full voice, we can get the team over the line - not going to be easy at all

Just watching highlights - their free kick, leaburn is at back post (furthest away) - shouldnt he have been the first man given hes the biggest? Or somewhere in the middle!?
strange one - he was in between ramsey and gillesphey - must have given jones the slip - i think he held gillesphey down but i think both would accept they should have bundled into him if nothing else just to put him off - shit happens

It’ll also provide the information as to what we need to do in the January transfer window. We absolutely can’t afford to be sucked into a relegation scrap.

Was looking forward to this awayday, but ended up being called away to work elsewhere.

Managed to watch the first half hour then the second half on the feed - wasn't pretty, but true Charlton grit, everyone putting in a real shift. Anderson has to start for me in these games, as he gets in teams faces, breaks up play and makes things so difficult. Plus shows some desire. Whatever the keeper said to Olaofe, that really riled him, he then got angry and had a point to prove, and the others responded in kind. Brum should have got something, and the bizarre refereeing decisions helped us at times, but no quarter from the boys til the final whistle.

Pleased for TC getting a goal. Bloke never stops running despite what position is what's asked of him, and should really have been rotated as a sub so we could play with this type of system/different players in some of the recent games IMO. Don't blame him not celebrating with fans if he's had dog's abuse. Our fans have always loved a scapegoat, and that's fair if the player ain't trying/doesn't give a toss/stealing a wage (of which there have been hundreds in recent memory), but that's not very often the case, it's more sensitive/confidence players we tend to get on the backs of which doesn't help anyone. No problem with dog's abuse for wasters who take the piss like Marcus Bent, Roger Johnson, Thierry Racon, Reza <3, Izale McLeod, Danny Mills (when he came back) or Martin bloody Crainie - but it's not usually these types that get singled out, sadly.

That's what I really like about this team - we look like we give a shit, and for modern footballers they're a surprisingly likeable bunch!

Still think Kaminski is a liability at times, but he does pull a surprising save or two. Odd keeper, still would feel more comfortable with Mannion but there you go.

Absolutely brilliant work though from the team and manager - great noise from fans too. I can't make the cup game either, so hopefully a similar kind of performance!!

I've got my ticket for Sat. Only the 3rd time this season. Other 2 visits ended in wins. May that run continue.

Yes it was, but to be fair I think we'd just been giving them that chant (can't remember what for) and then up popped Miles to give them the chance to chuck it straight back at us....... so from my perspective it was more of a tongue in cheek moment than anything else.....

Absolute rubbish from what I heard. The only chant of that from our fans was when one of theirs sliced the ball out.

Well it's not rubbish cause it's what I saw and heard. It wasn't loads of fans, just a little group.

I don't think it was done with any malice either so it doesn't matter.

Anderson had a great game, like a bull terrier. The only thing that lets his game down is when he actually gets the ball and has time to think. He's a reactionary player, so needs to learn the missing part of his game.

I thought TC's reticence to celebrate with the fans was regretful, as he got complete support yesterday. His chant started as soon as he came on, I'm sure the Brum fans would have got the impression he was a fans favourite, rather than the target of the boo boys.

Maybe NJ by some of the post match comments when mentioning TC, is trying to use the same philosophy where like himself the criticism fires him up, wouldn’t be surprised if he’s telling TC to prove people wrong. Bit odd though because in recent times his song has been the loudest song you hear at the valley.

Because it just so happened I was talking about Leaburns missed chance? I can't mute fan audio.

It's not like I've recorded people and said "Look they're chanting about Leaburn haha"

Even the other day when they were booed off at half time against Boro I said it was surprising to hear boos.

Don't think the loudest song always have a bearing on whether or not a player is good or not.

Losers like the 'brilliant water-carrier' Semedo and Elliot Lee both had the loudest songs at times.

Not that I'm comparing TC to players like them, just saying fans go for a 'catchy' song.
