Win against Oxford and we are well and truly back on track.
We must not lose however - to lose would be very very bad.5 -

Just watched the highlights, bad miss from Leaburn. Their goal the scorer had both hands on Jones’ shoulders.

Given Jones' comments yesterday post-match: "Once we get everyone back, we’ll play him in one position and we can rest him when we can.", we must be expecting the return of a few. Here's hoping.
Anyway, 3 points against Oxford will give us an 8-point lead over them and a bit of daylight, and all will be forgotten, at least for a couple of weeks till the transfer window.6 -
A good point to stop the rot at the right time with some of the lower teams to play next.
TC getting off the mark hopefully does his confidence wonders and sets him up for a few more. Some of the stick him and Leaburn have been getting of late had been crazy for 3 youngsters who both clearly try their hardest every match.
Jones playing on after a head clash and throwing up isn't a great look imo. If in doubt, take them out. Some things are more important than football.4 -
I really don’t think anyone underestimates the hard work that Tyreece gets through and his role in the team but I also, in my humble opinion think it’s quite reasonable for fans to question a system where the most advanced player in the team doesn’t score for 27 games. I think we all recognise that our biggest problem is scoring enough goals so surely we have to be concerned that our strikers and I include Leaburn, Olaofe and Kelman in this are just not currently cutting it. Yesterday we did very well to get back into that game so fair play but unless we address our general lack of goals come January I think the spectre of a relegation scrap will always be there. Jones I don’t think will change his system and at present the offensive players we have arnt good enough.Southbank said:All those who have been piling on to TC should read NJ's responses today and feel ashamed of themselves. BTW, I would recommend the paid service 100%. Not only do you get a 30-40 minute review of the game with interviews - which you would never get anywhere near on BBC London- it is also great entertainment because Rich and Louis have developed a rich vein of banter. Add them to Charlton TV with Tel, Greg and Brownie, and we have coverage we could only dream about 10 years ago. They all deliver to a high professional standard but they are our own. You gotta pay for it though. Cancel one of your streaming services if you have to, you’ll thank me later.fenaddick said:

I haven't heard Tyreece getting stick at games, I never heard him get stick after Boro's second goal, that's probably because it happened at the away end. Where he is getting stick, in my opinion, is on social media. You only have to look at responses on here, not just on Tyreece but all matters regarding this football club, Miles getting stick, James Bree, 'not the player he was when he arrived', the vitriol reserved for Anderson or Docherty, we even have a 'players marks' section, so we can gleefully declare who was shit and who wasn't. Southbank, I gave Tyreece four for his performance against Boro, sorry mate but I'm not ashamed, if we would have had 'players marks' when Dennis Rommedahl jumped up out of the tackle at West Brom guess what, the cowardly Dane would have got a four, Thierry Racon would have had me copying and pasting four every week. We have fitness coaches, sports scientist's, dead ball coaches, well it might time to employ a life style coach for our players, first lesson, stay off social media.thickandthin63 said:

Great second half - glad NJ finally took my advice to play fullah at LWB and get back to, and stick to, the 3-5-2 formation that the team are familiar with - got the bit back between our teeth and feeling much more optimistic about the upcoming games - haven't been to birmingham in circa 30 years and forgot what an utter dump the place is.0

Enjoyed the game and all round looked better than previous weeks. St Andrews a decent stadium, and they had pre poured pints!
At the game was hard to see the opportunity Leaburn had, on highlights it was a big miss! He’ll be gutted and hopefully can put it right.
Shame about all the TC stuff, but he has to see the fans that are there for him, always going to be criticism and some of it deserved. Just hope he does enjoy the good moments when they come along!

He consistently gets called lazy. I have no problem with people criticising his finishing, him not going for the ball the other day etc. but so many people call him lazy which winds me up. NJ said yesterday TC runs 12k in some games, if that’s lazy I’d love to see the effort those criticising him think he should put inShootersHillGuru said:

Edit: this data isn't publically available for the Championship but in the first week of the PL the highest distance covered was just over 12k with the rest of the top 5 just under 12k. If he really is running that it's genuinely elite standard stuff and no wonder he's knackered15 -

This is a brilliant point from a brave performance.
Karoy Anderson was superb in injecting some energy into our midfield just like he was against Boro.
TC showed why he’s so useful to us, but also showed why he can’t be expected to do it from the start every game. He can be wonderful when he is fresh and hungry.
And Fullah put in a really assured performance out of position.
Tanto had a fantastic second half as well.
Little shout out to Gillesphey too. He’s had a torrid time recently but he keeps going and trying his best. He’s not a long term championship starter but you can never fault his effort.
I’m so pleased that most fans on this site have recognised why the last few games have been such a struggle and not gone overboard.Huge game next weekend.21 -
TC has never been any good in the air - he doesn't like challenging for the ball in the air, never has and that's just the way it is. He is also very shy and doesn't interact with the fans as much as others. He also isn't a great finisher. What he is great at is giving defenders the run around, scaring them enough to double or triple up on him and creating opportunities for others. None of that has changed and probably never will. He's definitely worth a place in the team although a few games off the bench every now and then will benefit him and the team. That's it, case closed, nothing more to see here i'd suggest and not sure what all the fuss is about.3

12 points out of that run would set us up really well for survival. Here's hoping.Er_Be_Ab_Pl_Wo_Wo_Ch said:Currently sitting in 17th, next 5 league games, opponent league position..

Who do we reckon will be back next weekend then? Even if they are on the bench to start with?

For the first time this season, I watched the EFL show last night, with its extensive coverage of the Championship. Some of the football and goals featured really underscored the quality and resources of teams in this division and what we are up against - hence our status as pre-season favourites for relegation.
As Nathan said to Charlotte in a post-match interview, we had 5 Academy products on the pitch at the end, which I doubt any other Championship team gets close to. That is, indeed, something to be proud of but, as he emphasised, we need players back and some reinforcements to really compete at this level. Hopefully we’ll get a couple of good players in next month and more of those that we signed in the summer will start to show what they can do. Whilst I understand Nathan’s reticence on loaning players, it may be a case of needs must to improve the quality and depth of the squad. We certainly can’t afford another injury crisis in the second half of the season.
Nothing has really changed from day 1 and 50 points remains the target: 24 down, 26 to go.11 -
