Portsmouth [A] Tickets to go on restricted sale

Just got to the point where I press best available, in row B for this (and Norwich), should be more clarity in initial communication about which areas are safe standing. Guess it's a new concept still bedding in but causing confusion nonetheless1

Is there another block to go on sale? Want to get 4 together but would rather not be right down the front0

MQ not gone on sale at all. And in MP the safe standing hasn’t gone on sale yet which is most of the blockcafcsinger said:Is there another block to go on sale? Want to get 4 together but would rather not be right down the front
The MP safe standing bit is probably where most people want to go, but is one of the last to go on sale. Process doesn’t make sense when it was obvious this would sell out0 -
On the ridiculous way tickets are sold:
Staff at Charlton's ticket office have told me that this is due to how they have been instructed to sell tickets from the home team. However, every time I have asked if x block is next to go on sale, I am told that they have no idea. So either, ticket office staff are not being informed of the order tickets are sold in, or there are SOME restrictions set by the home sides and the staff are placing further restrictions (such as not selling the backs of the blocks), which is being made up as they go along.
I went to the ticket office in person to get my Birmingham ticket as I saw that the seats that were currently available were close to selling out. There were about 40 tickets left when I arrived there around 16:00. Staff told me that we weren't going to sell enough tickets today, so I would need to come back tomorrow if I didn't want a seat right at the front. I said that I would wait to see how the tickets sold over the next hour.
About five sold over the next 30 minutes. I then pointed out to the staff that, from the seats that were currently available, only one group of four and three groups of two would be able to buy seats next to each other.
They instantly decided to open up the availability of more seats, but chose to only sell three more rows behind those that had already gone on sale. I think at this point I said something like 'Well that seems pretty pointless as we still only have seats down the front. I guess I will come back tomorrow.' They then instantly made the decision to put the rest of the seats on sale and sold me the seat I wanted.
So, while the staff claim that there's nothing they can do and it's all down to the home sides, this clearly isn't the case.
We SHOULD get more tickets on sale for Pompey soon today but, unless somebody goes down there and pushes the staff, I won't be surprised if they only release three more rows or wait for the corner block (ML) that nobody wants to sell out before they put the premium seats on sale.
I have seen a few complaints online about people saying that people were in their seats and wouldn't move but, from what I have seen most of those of us who go to every game seem to be actually sat in their seats as they're all sat in the best of the worst seats that go on sale at the start. I am also surrounded by faces I have never seen before while I sit in the premium seats.
As usual, I am waiting for proper tickets to go on sale for this one before buying. Frustratingly, while the Norwich tickets went on sale at the same time as this, I will have to buy them separately and pay two booking fees.1 -
The back 3 rows of Block P have now been released for sale, but not the bulk of 10 rows in front. This leans into what the poster above suggests about the ticket office being a bit silly here

That is a perfect example. While it makes sense that Portsmouth would have told Charlton to sell L, M and N before selling P and Q, there's no way in a million years they would have told them to sell the front nine rows of P, then the back three before selling the middle.AFKABartram said:The back 3 rows of Block P have now been released for sale, but not the bulk of 10 rows in front. Even if we don't sell out, they can't stick home fans in the middle of us, nor is there an argument for this cutting down on stewarding costs should the remaining 10 rows go unsold. It has to be somebody at Charlton that has made this decision.
I'm not seeing a rational explanation for this, so I can only put it down to stupidity.4 -
It's no wonder that people don't sit in their allocated seats at away games2

Got two for me and the kid.0

Those 3 rows all now gone with no new ones added yet. Such unnecessary faffing

What a mess.
Not the hallmarks of an efficient business2 -

Thought Pompey would have sold out by now.0

It probably would if they just put all the tickets on sale. Looks like they’re not gonna release any more until a few dozen against the side railing have sold.Athletico Charlton said:Thought Pompey would have sold out by now.1 -
Fill your boots, someone has shouted and the rest of P and Q now on sale
