We now have Pompey twice in this month, Oxford and Norwich. Imo if we want to stay up, we can't really afford to lose to any of them unless it's a high points return total in return, I.e 7 or 9 out of 12.

By far the most important fixtures, and Pompey at home is the first real must win of the season.

Surprised more people don't think we are in a relegation fight potentially. The football has been very poor since Ipswich away, important players are injured, and we are lacking quality in all areas, mainly midfield and up front.

Owners need to back Jones this window or we could easily see ourselves back down in that dreadful league.
Ssshhhh. You cant be saying things like that on here.

PWR but the first time I have been deeply concerned by Jones actions. Starting Bell on Saturday was very naive especially due to the fact we play a team we need to finish above this season in order to stay up.

Saw them before the game. A fat little pre-pubescent waste of sperm and a bloke with a sling bag. Probably related.

Sadly this is the social media world we live in, but they have very few views (262 so far, likely to go up as we all watch it), they have garnered 9 likes (themselves and their relatives) and 79 subscribers (the rest of their cousins).

Please don't give them more views!
I did just watch it and all I can think of is, thank goodness we have Braziliance as a blogger.

We’ve looked shit without a LWB available, but even on Saturday we were very good for the 30 minutes that we did have one available. That gives me enough confidence we will be absolutely fine once we have that sorted

With an eleven on the pitch that has everyone in the right position and role, we have proven we can get results against any team in this league, and the first 30 mins on Saturday showed that was still the case
This is where I am, in line with Naby as per usual. I think Saturday was a "normal loss" in that we came up against a better side, kept it tight for half an hour and even took the lead with a scrappy goal, and then gradually came undone in part because of our lack of a LWB and our ensuing inability to stretch them on the break. It's worth noting we easily could have been 2-0 up or 1-1 and down to 10 men in that first 20 minutes.

Soton absolutely ran us rampant, obviously. Stoke was a fluke opening 10 minutes followed by a keeper mistake/fluke third. Cov just had a bit too much quality for us. The fact is that has probably only happened a couple of times, Soton on a run of form, down from the Prem, and Coventry, runaway league leaders. I wouldn't even put Stoke in that category down to the flukey nature of two out of three of their goals. I think they probably would have won it at 1-0, but I think had our heads not dropped we would have been in that game more than we were.

The problem remains that we don't have a LWB for Saturday. I'm not expecting Rousillon to start on Saturday, which means we have at least one more game without a natural LWB. Performances might remain uneven until Rousillon gets up to speed/we get one of Bell or Edwards back. And even with Bell, he doesn't look like he's going to be able to last at wingback. And I don't know what Jones is going to do about that. Maybe he goes 4-2-3-1 and brings someone into the side on the right of midfield (Apter or Hernandez). I thought TC looked better on the left wing and Tanto provided space for him stretching the defense up front. I think Miles really subdued that when he came on, and then Tanto struggled to get into the game on the right. I could see Jones moving TC to LWB, maybe going with Tanto and Miles up front if Kelman or Godden are ready for the bench. Maybe Hernandez gets another go at LWB. No option is great.

Now would be a really good time to get one or two back from injury. I mean Edwards would be ideal but I'm sure he's not close, so really anyone. Burke would be a help as it would allow Jones to move Ramsay to LWB. Kelman and/or Godden would allow us to start with TC at LWB, Miles and Tanto up front and still have a striker on the bench. It's tough having 3-4 first teamers out injured. And I think that's a bigger problem right now than anything else. My biggest worry is I'm not sure it gets better this month, so it might be a month of missed opportunities to put some space between us and the bottom before we can hopefully get right in January, either through players returning, the transfer window, or ideally both.

Just watched back Tanto's touch and finish for that massive chance to make it 2-0. Jonesy must be ripping the rest of his hair out.
He bought him, just look back at the Stockport / Orient semi final, easy to see what we were getting. Ok he might put himself about & have other attributes but he's not a goal scorer at least at this level, neither is TC, neither is Leaburn. As I've said many times we should have pushed the boat out for a proven championship striker. As I've been told they're expensive, of course they are but if that's the difference between staying up & relegation you would think that would be a risk worth taking from our "billionaire owners". If we end up back in the 3rd Division, we'll probably lose our better players, we'll lose our regular 8-10million a season & we'll have to rebuild again to get back up & spend again the following year pre season to keep us up, & will that include a proven championship striker ?

It is very hard to get a proven Championship striker through. Why would another club sell one, unless you're paying absurd money?

Also unless we were willing to pay astronomical wages, why would a proven striker come to little ole Charlton, it would be too risky for them.

Why are people in Coventry so angry?
They have to live in Coventry - that's a more than good enough reason.
They should spend an hour each day meditating in the Cathedral. And I am not remotely religious.

For the price they're charging, a 12:30pm kick off and restricted sale, they have kind of shot themselves in the foot. I will be going myself, but the club have done themselves no favour's to get the highest number of fans in the ground this weekend.

A quick positive though. The Coventry fan base might be a a bit unpleasant but football wise they play an attractive style of football. I'm not sure if they can keep it up till may, but I'd be happy to see good football rewarded with promotion, especially as we probably won't be in the mix.

Heard yesterday - virtually direct from the horses mouth - that Godden won't be back until the new year - if we're lucky - operation was botched, could be a court case. Kelman was still limping about 10 days ago so can't see him being back til the new year either - time to dig in and support the players doing their best - Leaburn and TC aren't perfect - far from it but they're probably the best we have at the moment so last thing we need is people getting on their backs.
But TC and Leaburn are offering NOTHING, every game without fail, do we have to put up with it forever?
Who else can we play Apter won’t work in the 2 striker roles he’s a winger, Oloafe threatens but again zero end product, we put up with this front line until January when we can get some decent forwards in
Always makes me laugh when I read comments like this. What forwards are these ? Is there some factory turning out forwards just waiting to be bought in January ?  If not then we will have to spend money buying them.....and decent forwards who can step right in on day 1 will cost a pretty penny.

Sorry.....cant see it myself. At best we will get a Premier League loanee with no experience or yet another out of contract player with fitness issues.

And no, this isn't Golfie being his pessimistic self. Its the January transfer window & knowing our owners aren't going to spend £10m to buy Ellis Simms.
    Chucks ?  :#
