    13.
Beat Pompey twice, beat Oxford, beat Boro 3-0 with a Leaburn hat-rick.  Draw with Norwich. Lose to Birmingham.

Much bigger month than November was as 3 of the teams are down the bottom.

I'm hoping Rousillon is fit and hits the ground running in place of Bell and that Bell is not far behind with even Burke maybe not long after that. Defence would go back to looking very strong in an instant with Bree, Ramsey, Jones, Bell, Rousillon.

Seven. All a bit of a struggle given the injuries right now.

If we can turn this around and pull 7 out then I'd take it - the team are capable of becoming very solid again but the injuries mean the system is very brittle currently.

we then need to reinforce across the key positions - the back 5 working is the cornerstone of the strategy, if that isn't operating well then we are bang in trouble.

we need a draw first - something to stop the rot.

Get that against Portsmouth we can look to squeeze wins against others.

Realistically, we need to be looking at the following as a minimum if we’re serious about staying in this league:

    Portsmouth (H) Win

    Middlesbrough (H) Draw

    Birmingham (A) Loss

    Oxford Utd (H) Win

    Norwich (A) Draw

    Portsmouth (A) Draw

This month we probably 'need' more points than any other, with so many likely six pointers. The average league position of opponent will probably be the lowest of the season.

    4 points - 4 draws, 2 defeats

Beat Pompey Saturday and 8 or 9 points can be achieved.
Lose Saturday and probably only about 4 or5.

    Massive game Saturday.

Seriously all, in a month where we play Pompey, twice, whom we have such a track record against.

Norwich are absolute jank and 10 pts behind us.

Keep the faith, 3 wins, 1 draw, 10pts.

I think we could really do with 10 points. That would take us to 33 and give us a good platform to stay up. If it’s significantly lower than 10 points over December it’s going to be a real slog for the rest of the season.

Birmingham are on a roll at home at the moment. The other 5 are all games we are very capable of getting results in but our month probably depends a lot on getting some defenders back fit or Rousillon up to speed

    Pompey (H) Draw
    Middlesbrough (H) Draw
    Birmingham (A) Lose
    Oxford (H) Win
    Norwich (A) Lose
    Pompey (A) Win

Portsmouth (H) 6/12          1  I think we'll win one of the Pompey and Oxford home games
Middlesbrough (H) 9/12     0  They played well on Saturday
Birmingham (A) 13/12        0  Tough place to go
Oxford Utd (H) 20/12         3  I think we'll win one of the Pompey and Oxford home games
Norwich (A) 26/12              0  They got their first home win on Saturday, so have broken their terrible run of results
Portsmouth (A) 29/12         1  A nasty holiday set of fixtures, with 2 away games

I think we can get 8 which i would happily take. Anything less than 6 and we are definitely in the brown stuff.

    Pompey (h) - Draw
    Boro (h) draw
    Brum (a) loss
    Oxford (h) loss
Norwich (a) draw or loss, can't decide
    Pompey (a) win

5 or 6 points, either in the relegation zone or just outside it going into the new year.

We are bang in trouble imo, the football is very poor, none of our players are currently grabbing games by the scruff of the neck to get us through it, and it isn't like League 1 where you can get away with bad stints.

I hope I am wrong, but I am expecting League 1 football next season unless we invest in January, or certain players decide to wake up.

Seeing a lot of people think we can beat Oxford, I am not so sure, we have won just one in our last 15 vs that lot, absolute bogey team.

Pompey is the only team I am fairly confident we can get something as we could send out our team from the 1970s in present day and probably still get something.

As long as we get the same points from the two portsmouth games as they do ie 2x draws or 1 win and 1 loss plus a draw at norwich and home to Oxford we will be fine this season
