Players Marks: Coventry City v Charlton Athletic (close Sunday teatime)

KAMINSKI: 6.5 - made a few good saves. I felt at the time that he should have done better for the second goal but maybe that’s harsh. He’s a good shot stopper but not a goalie who commands his 6-yard box

RAMSAY: 7 - played very well, one of the few demonstrating the physicality and quality needed at this level

JONES: 7 - did all he could to hold things together

GILLESPHEY: 6 - did ok but hit quite a few long, aimless balls to immediately cede possession - not that our style involves midfielders regularly showing for the ball

BREE: 5 - a bit flat today. I do wonder if he’s fully fit or whether this is his more his usual level

COVENTRY: 7 - performed well against a high quality and very fluid midfield

KNIBBS: 6.5 - had a decent first half playing in an advanced role

CAREY: 5 - should have done better when set up by Leaburn but he’s well in credit this season. A quiet game otherwise

BELL: 6 - the change of shape when he went off did for us. Without sounding like Arsene Wenger, I didn’t really have a good view of the alleged penalty. Let’s hope he’s not knackered, although the portents don’t look promising

OLAOFE: 4: his touch is poor and I’m afraid he’s struggling to adjust to the level. Still early days and perhaps a run of games will help

CAMPBELL: 4.5 - started the game well but his level went progressively down as the game wore on, not helped by having to try and fill in at wing back. He was mentally shot at the end and I was very surprised that Nathan left him on. I’m a fan of TC but surely the time has come to give the lad a rest and play Apter in his natural position.

Referee: 4 - he seemed to proceed on the assumption that, if a Coventry player went down, he must have been fouled. That said, we may have got away with one with the penalty appeal

subs: Leaburn: 4: he looked laboured and immobile throughout, save for one decent bit of play when he set up Carey for our only second half chance

Docherty: 5.5 - helped to shore things up but his passing is nearly always backwards and sideways. After some fine early performances, he seems to be struggling at Championship level.
