Yawning or even sleeping policeman in the ground is better than none or 300 allegedly outside in their vans or spread across SE London. Time for club to bite the bullet and pay for police to "police" Millwall fans in JS

What you are saying is what almost everybody agrees with, me included.

Give it a rest and wait until next season's fixtures are announced and bump the thread.

    Please.

Great. He wont have to doff his cap to Baroness Brady any more😀

But they owe me some feedback, I will nudge his assistant.
  • Will be interesting to see what happens after the Chelsea cup game.

was chatting to a palace fan who was outraged about how they were sent round the houses at the expense of millwall fans at their last game - said it was coz of the damage they caused when held back last time - he was equally pissed off they were basically rewarded for it - this has to be stopped - keep going prague

We wasn’t held back at palace the time before last (which would have been the FA Cup game). We left at the same time as the palace fans, just made to take a certain route when leaving the ground. This has been the case the last few times we’ve played there. I can’t remember the last time we were held back at palace.

Not debating that. Just pointing out that the palace fan you was talking to was incorrect with what he said.
  • Interesting to see a new food stand on the otherside of Gate 21, opening for Oxford game, I wonder if this will be serving next time Millwall come, back to two stewards..

Away fans get served salt beef beigels, while the home fans get luke warm pie with 5 chips 😲

  • Since Gate 21 “incident” the club have gone into overdrive with away fan catering & drinks. Most odd that the unlocked gate accessed in this away section has no stewards?
by time Millwall next come they will no doubt have Stella A on tap for the Bushwackers.

Watching the senior officers from West Midlands police facing select committee MPs at parliament.
So unconvincing regarding their reasons for banning Macaabi Tel Aviv fans at Aston Villa. Senior police countrywide taking the easy option wherever they can. Spineless.

Haven't got tickets for the away game later this month so cant be there to have my usual "banter" with the local plod after the match.

I do hope all those that are going will make sure they let plod know that they expect to be let out at the final whistle & not kept behind for 30 mins, otherwise it could be deemed discriminatory.

If only we were of the Jewish faith then Kier Starmer could get involved and have a word with Khan & the Met telling them that they were being anti-semitic 🙄

Khan and Starmer in the Dockers Stand.

That'd quickly sort the problems out in the UK B)

Len Duvall is still on the case. I got a mail from his assistant just before Xmas. It seemed that Mark Rowley had not at that point got back to him as he had promised. Poor show. I get that most of the other topics he had to get back on are more weighty, but he’s got staff to make sure that if he promises to get back on something he does.

Anyway it would be very useful if everyone could report on how Chelsea is policed,  see what are the differences. Then I’ll report it to him and mention the upcoming Toolbox game, our expectation that we will be held back, and the suggestion that South Bermondsey could be designated away only for a while after the final whistle.

I'll have a guess it will be business as usual, up Floyd Road without problems.

Do Chelsea even have the kind of away following these days that would cause trouble? The club’s been heavily gentrified since the 90s, and it’s hard to imagine that fans who can afford expensive season tickets and rack up the loyalty points to get an away ticket are the same sort of people who used to be associated with that behaviour.

apparently this is a recent change to the law on this

In the UK, it is generally no longer legally possible to routinely "hold back" entire groups of away fans inside the stadium after a match has finished due to human rights legislation.
Historically, clubs and police used post-match detention (known as "kettling" or "holding back") as a crowd control measure, but this practice has been largely discontinued because it can infringe on civil liberties and has been challenged under human rights law.

The police will kettle us in as I think they do to most clubs fans as they see it is the sensible thing to do. Police will say that doing this has worked for quite a while now ,you dont hear problems there like you used to hear .

Right - if we get held back at the banana box, rowley has to remove the Millwall fan in the police who’s making these decisions - plain and simple
