If the tables were turned tomorrow Charlton fans would be shitting themselves thinking we will
bloody lose to them .. and would not surprise me if we got something .. but with the injuries showing no sign of improving until Christmas on paper and form it’s impossible task .Coventry have scored 4/5 against far better teams then us and hopefully think they won before the game starts ..

we had little luck in the past 3 games and poor ref decisions  at Wrexham and Stoke at key moments in the game ..so we need everything to go our way tomorrow if we got anybody sort of chance ..

team think he got to go and try and keep it tight relaying on break away moments , … the longer we frustrate them more chance of a surprise ..

    451 ……..
    Kamiski
    Bree
    Lloyd
    Gilly
    Ramsey

    Apter
    Coventry
    Costello
    doc
    Knibbs

    Carey

Apter and Knibbs for the break away option .. Carey playing more forward role .

My prediction .. 1-2 shock win if we don’t concede in the first 25 mins .. just got a strange feeling
Glad you’re not picking the team!

    Knibbs on the wing?

    Carey Upfront?

    Costello Box to Box?

If we manage to get a couple of their players sent off early there's a chance we don't lose too badly.

We have a new LWB! We can now put out a proper back 5 with everyone in their actual positions. This changes everything, I am much more confident than I was before. Now predicting Coventry 3-0 Charlton

                    Kaminski
         Ramsay Jones Gillesphey
    Bree                              Roussillon
             Docherty Coventry
                      Carey
               Leaburn TC

Don’t mind if Olaofe starts ahead of Leaburn but that looks a lot better now. Providing Roussillon is even half fit and assuming he’s done some training with us, then he should come straight into the eleven

Good job you’re not picking the team Costello holding ….. Carey false number nine along with Knibbs and Apter who inter change so they are fluid and constantly changing that’s why Costello , Coventry and Doc are sitting in protecting the back 4

We’d probably lose about 8-0 and struggle to get out of our own half with this team. Fortunately it will be nothing like this

He will play him. Can't see him dropping him unless he's injured. Personally i'd play Anderson in his place and give him a rest.

I just don’t think Anderson has the positional discipline to play in that position for a game like this where we are going to be doing a lot of defending. Anderson is great when he has the freedom to press and chase opponents down, but for this game I’d imagine our midfield 2 will more be shuttling left and right, blocking passes, intercepting and tackling anyone who comes near them. Docherty isn’t a great footballer but he’s good without the ball at being in the right position to stop the opposition progressing, and that’s probably one of Anderson’s bigger weaknesses

Docherty probably has to start, and if he doesn’t then it would be Costello replacing him. If Anderson plays it will be further forward

Yes you're right - picking your absolute box of frogs lineup in the well known 4-6-0 formation does seem a more sensible choice in hindsight.
  • Calling we win 1 nil after being under the cosh for 90 minutes and Nathan Jones goes to a never seen before level of berserk at full time.

    Give it a rest Ronnie!

That’s probably the worst team/formation I’ve seen anyone suggest this season.

You’d make Karel Fraeye look like Pep!

Easier said than done. How many players do we have with curved balls?

I've not seen a prediction from @Happy_HighfieldRoadReplacementStadium but I'm sure he'll say comfortable 4-0 home win.

With players out the Southampton, Stoke and Cov fixtures are actually well timed because I doubt we’d have got much from those games, even with a full squad.
  • Dear me,what is this defeatist attitude? Yes, we’ve conceded enough goals to fill Lady Godiva’s saddlebag, and at times we’ve looked about as protected as she did riding through Coventry, but come on, stranger things have happened!

Nathan will have bitten his nails down to the elbow by now, physio wrapping him like an Egyptian mummy between tactical sessions. He’ll be ironing his black ultras outfit, muttering Welsh valley hymns, and clutching the prayer mat like it’s the January transfer window.

But fear not we can channel Corporal Jones: “Don’t panic… don’t panic!” What we need is a block as tight as Coventry away ticket allocation and a midfield with a bit of bite. It’s just a shame we don’t have God........eerm Godman but  surely that counts for something spiritually, if not technically.

Tomorrow, we look to Tanto and Leaburn to ride to the rescue, our twin hopes of the counter-attack and TC to open them up on the wings. Time for Fat Frank to  wipe that smile of his face, anyone is beatable aren't they?

Stranger things have happened. We may be sent to Coventry…
But we ain’t going quietly. COYA's

9 player Human pyramid on the goal line, Kaminski just in front saving shots, leaving Campbell upfield to break away and score.
This way me might just nick a win.

We're unlikely to suffer the same flukey setback as we did on Tuesday night and i think we will go up there 'dogs of war style' - If we can get Bell back in, we are somewhere near our solid back 5 unit. I'd like to see the cov/doc/carey triangle reinstated as well and then probably Leaburn and Campbell up top - back to the winning formula as much as we can and regain our composure.
As much as I like both players, starting Miles and Tyreece isn’t a great move. They’re too static and are more effective being on as a pair later in the game. Start Oloafe with one of them and give their defence a bit more to do from the off.
I have seen trees less static than Oloafe. If you want movement up front Fullah is about the best we have, but not ready for a game like this.

By the way, helped by Ronnie, the gallows humour on here is a welcome shot in the arm.

    Twins in the middle
  • Home win and Coventry to score at least four. Right now they are playing very well, scoring bucket loads... and we are not. We could get something, stranger things have happened, but I can't see it.

One of the joys of supporting Charlton is that Mr Optimism can turn up when least expected.

    Realistically this is a 7 - 0.
We got some lucky results early on but are bang in trouble with our league 1 team and I fear the worse .. sorry
