Time to reset the tactics and game plan for me.
Keep it simple like, after they score their first (and subsequent) goal(s), really really try to not let the next goal go in for, maybe, 9-minutes, which would be a marked improvement on the previous 2-games and would overall limit the scoreline to 10-0 tops (excluding any crazy injury time)……
    Garn u addicks….

    Charlton surprise win, 4-5.
haha I know your joking mate but if we played this match 15 times I would bet quite alot we dont score 5 goals in total
  • Record to defeat to Coventry is 4-0. Will be there tomorrow with hope more than expectation that is still the case at full time.

Coventry to score four or more ( Home unquoted on correct score market ) is 6.5  (11-2) on the betfair exchange. No Brainer.
That is attractive but also i saw Coventry minus 4 match handicap was 20/1 on william hill yesterday, today it has gone out to 22/1 for some reason. Also minus 2 was 3/1, now 10/3.

5-0 for those who like it straight forward is now 35/1.

For this game I would go for chaos. Some coaches/fans dont like it when their team adapts to accommodate the opposition but this may be the time to do it. I remember in the Prem when we'd been on a bad run, Curbs played 532 at Spurs which looked like a white flag. But we soaked up pressure, caught them on the break and won 3-2. So i'd go defensive, have "ugly" players in midfield, go man for man (like Ramsay did on the winger Tuesday after the horse had bolted), a couple of outlets, and see if somehow we can get a point or even a smash and grab.

    Kaminsky
Bree Jones Gillepshey Bell Ramsay (yes left back and just stay there defending).
Docherty, Coventry, Anderson (energy and chaos just dont try to pass forwards),
Carey (front of diamond and can run with the ball for chaos theory)
Campbell (just run next to carey for extra chaos theor)

I like this but was wondering if we could add Fullah and Apter behind our back four in free roles to plug any leaks.

If we win this I'll eat my hat (I've bought a little toffee n chocolate one just in case)
A back four makes sense as we have no-one making a go of a wing back role. Also it gives us more solidity
It's time to give Campbell a rest, Knibbs has done nothing so far and I would keep Berry in midfield with Tanto and Leaburn up front.
Leaburn has done very little so far this season, time to try him with a 'partner' up front rather than with a winger who promises to provide a service but rarely does

We surely travel much more in hope than in expectation

Anyone fancy Mannion having a turn between the sticks?

Head says don’t concede in the first 20mins. Also head says can’t see anything but a home win by at least 2.
Heart would take a battling performance.
But predicting 3-0 for head. Heart as always more positive 0-0.

can only expect a 4-0 defeat. Any thing less is a great improvement.

Looking forward to this game. This is where the real test comes in for the players, can they learn from the last two matches? I think if we don't concede any goals first 60 mins then we may get some points from the game.

For, what seemed like ages, CL kept wanting me to log in again every time I glanced at the site even if I’d only been away for 10 minutes or so. Whilst this was going on, Charlton were generally doing quite well on the pitch. For the past week or little longer CL was actually remembering me again and I didn’t have to keep signing back in. Purely coincidentally of course but Charlton have not been doing particularly well on the pitch over the same period. I noticed CL has now gone back to being shit about remembering me and wants me to sign in every time I look at it. Under normal circumstances I‘d bitch about it but in this case I’m clutching at that straw for the result tomorrow.

PS, don’t fix the site until after tomorrow’s game; and if by some miracle we do come away with a point or three leave the fault alone for the rest of the season.

We're unlikely to suffer the same flukey setback as we did on Tuesday night and i think we will go up there 'dogs of war style' - If we can get Bell back in, we are somewhere near our solid back 5 unit. I'd like to see the cov/doc/carey triangle reinstated as well and then probably Leaburn and Campbell up top - back to the winning formula as much as we can and regain our composure.

As much as I like both players, starting Miles and Tyreece isn’t a great move. They’re too static and are more effective being on as a pair later in the game. Start Oloafe with one of them and give their defence a bit more to do from the off.

Hopefully Frank...and his team will underestimate us, rest a few regulars and we make a game of it.....and sneek a 1-1 draw.

    What’s our record defeat?  ;)
    was it 11-1 against Villa?
Don't remind me, I was there until the end. November 1959.
Goalkeeper Duff went off injured when it was only 6-1. Townsend and Leary had a go in goal.

Even with 2 keepers we still let another 5 in ??!!

Pompey, Boro and Oxford coming up in the next 5 are three must win games. Anything we can get against Cov and Brum is a bonus. And that probably includes not conceding too many.

Yes, give Wilf a go. Kaminsky is probably shell shocked.

Olaofe doesn’t look like he can last even 60 minutes at the intensity we require. Maybe he could do the first half and Leaburn the second.

I like Olaofe but I’m just not sure he’s a starter at the moment, seems to always struggle in the second half if he starts a game
  • Full marks to Coventry City, tomorrow every Charlton fan will be given a score card and pen when they enter the ground B)

The one saving grace this week, is that with the treadmill of games in the Championship, Stoke and especially Southampton effectively declared in the second half, saving themselves for the next game, rather than going all out for a humiliating score. Southampton eased off, and subbed their best players instead.

As Coventry don't have another game for a week, they won't need to do that, and they aren't the sort of team to shut up shop when ahead, so I can't see the second half being the non event the last 2 have been...

We need legs so I would definitely go for Anderson ahead of Docherty. Desperately need Bell back too but that may have to wait a week so 4-5-1 with Ramsay at left back looks sensible

I swear Charlton teams are allergic to picking up points in November & December. They always seem to be of leanest patches of each season.

If the tables were turned tomorrow Charlton fans would be shitting themselves thinking we will
bloody lose to them .. and would not surprise me if we got something .. but with the injuries showing no sign of improving until Christmas on paper and form it’s impossible task .Coventry have scored 4/5 against far better teams then us and hopefully think they won before the game starts ..

we had little luck in the past 3 games and poor ref decisions  at Wrexham and Stoke at key moments in the game ..so we need everything to go our way tomorrow if we got anybody sort of chance ..

team think he got to go and try and keep it tight relaying on break away moments , … the longer we frustrate them more chance of a surprise ..

    451 ……..
    Kamiski
    Bree
    Lloyd
    Gilly
    Ramsey

    Apter
    Coventry
    Costello
    doc
    Knibbs

    Carey

Apter and Knibbs for the break away option .. Carey playing more forward role .

My prediction .. 1-2 shock win if we don’t concede in the first 25 mins .. just got a strange feeling

Lots of negativity again on here, I understand it to a degree but last time I noticed it on here we went to Sheffield United and came back with 3 points.

The Wrexham game we were unlucky, could have been 1 nil up but the illness in the squad took its toll 2nd half and we went on to lose after a moment of madness. Southampton was a bad day but I don't think the Stoke result was a fair assessment of us, we didn't really do anything wrong in the first 5 minutes but found ourselves 2 down and the game was over. I don't expect us to win tomorrow, or even draw but I do expect a reaction of some sort. No point risking Bell tomorrow, just make sure he's fit to start against Portsmouth. Again, there isn't a single person on here who wouldn't have taken being 4 points off a play off spot after 17 games played at the start of the season.
