Only a single goal but the loss to Northwitch Victoria was
as bad as it gets. They were taking the piss, small team in Welling indeed.0 -

I remember us losing 5-1 at home to Rotherham in the early 1980s. Ronnie Moore was playing for them.0

That 5-0 at Watford was pretty desperate.3

I see you know your knowledge well0 -
Yeah that sprung to mind for me as well, 10 whole years ago - time flies!jonseventyfive said:That 5-0 at Watford was pretty desperate.2 -
Remember the Leeds 1-6 because Viduka spat towards my son when he asked had he watched the rugby. Had it not been for a steward I would have made a name for myself.Nasty horrible piece of work1

4 goals down within 22 minutes - a Championship record maybe?se9addick said:Have we ever been losing by four goals at half time in a home league match? I asked ChatGPT and it said “no” but I’m not sure it can always be trusted!0 -

We were 0-4 down at home to Notts County by the 40th minute in March 2012. Within six weeks we got promoted and by end of season had a record points haul. So let’s remember Curbs’ motto re not letting the highs be too high or the lows too low.

Worst does not mean biggest.
Our worst defeat was in 2020 on the last game of the season at Leeds. We showed no fight and then got relegated by a last minute goal by Barnsley at Brentford.1 -
Assume you mean the 7-0 in the early ‘80s. I was also there and remember us singing “We want 8!”HastingsRed said:'Celebrated' my 18th down Brighton. Also went to the 7-1 up Burnley.
Got uncomfortably close to that chant again today..

That was the one where El Kahlej had an absolute stinker wasn't it?Karim_myBagheri said:That leeds game was horrendous. Not just cos of the score line and our pathetic performance but the fact it was against those knob heads (champions of europe ffs) who then because of that result eased their relegation worries.0 -
Seeing us lose 7-0 away at Brighton at my first Charlton away game.....1
-
I recall that Allan Simonsen was in the side that lost 7 nil in the 80's.
I was at Kenilworth Road when we got spanked 7-1 by Luton, and at the Valley when they thumped us 5-1.0 -
I take it your Username isn't in memory of that afternoon then?Afternoon Delight said:Seeing us lose 7-0 away at Brighton at my first Charlton away game.....2 -
Notts County under Powell. Lost the next/previous game 2-0 to Colchester. Only two home defeats all season.se9addick said:Have we ever been losing by four goals at half time in a home league match? I asked ChatGPT and it said “no” but I’m not sure it can always be trusted!1 -
Correct, but 1-5 with 20mins to go and only 10 men. How can all the details of this game not be indelibly printed in every Addick’s memory?LargeAddick said:0 -
6-0 at half time according to home and away. Ouch.....shirty5 said:Charlton 0 Everton 7

We did better up there that season, a narrow 7-1 defeat.

The night before that Brighton game I was in France watching the the mighty Stranglers, got home about 7 am, couple of hours sleep then off to the game....
Funny thing was we were unbeaten until that day, we had two kicked off the line when it was 0-0, then the roof well and truly fell in. Anyone remember the attempted pitch invasion when we got a corner late on?0 -
5-0 at Swindon was bad0

We tried to leave early as we were getting thrashed and old bill wouldn't let us leave.
A thoroughly depressing day.1 -
